Surf trips aren’t for people who cling to expectations. Even pre-planned ones don’t guarantee the waves of your life and honestly, that’s not what they’re really about (for me at least).

Sure, I’d love to score epic conditions. But expectations steal peace. Surf trips give it back.

Maybe this one was meant for something else… a little taste of ‘s simple, sweet life in her tiny sliver of paradise. No surf clips out of respect for the locals. Just slowing down, staying present, igniting creativity, finding my flow again, and reflecting until everything got clearer.

I never really know what the Universe has lined up for me, but it always gives me exactly what I need in that moment. A lesson, a re-direct, a new path, connection… all of it messy, beautiful, chaotic, and silly.

And for those who don’t know: I had a near-death experience days before turning 26. I spent my birthday in a hospital getting an ICD placed because of a rare heart condition (long QT syndrome). Seven years later, I’m still here — grateful, present, and practicing receiving life’s blessings as they unfold.

Life is precious. Gratitude is a simple practice that can set your whole life on fire in ways you can’t imagine. ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥
