The second stop on today's Island Batik Aurifil Threaded Chaos Blog Hop is Renee at Pink Tulip Quilting!

Renee made this stunning Colcha Loca, or Hispanic-style crazy quilt, inspired by traditional embroidery motifs from Otomi, Mayan, Huastec, and Oaxaca cultures, incorporating birds, flowers, and folkloric symbols. The 72 x 92 inch quilt combines machine-embroidered panels and hand-sewn embellishments, with scraps repurposed into a matching fabric box. Wowza!!!

To make her stunning quilt, Renee used the fabric from the Island Batik Colorburst collection, designed for The Whimsical Workshop, perfectly coordinating Aurifil thread in 12, 50 and 40wt, Heirloom Bleached Cotton batting by Hobbs Quilt Batting, Microtex needles by SCHMETZneedles, Tucker Trimmer I by Deb Tucker's Studio 180 Design and her oliso Mini project iron.

We're halfway through the first week of Island Batik Aurifil Threaded Chaos Blog Hop! Today's new featured Island Batik collection is Colorburst, designed for Heidi Pridemore at The Whimsical Workshop. This vibrant spectrum of batiks with bold floral and leafy motifs in a full rainbow of rich, saturated hues evokes the joy and energy of a radiant rainbow, with a sense of celebration and creativity. The first host of the day is Lisa Pickering! Her quilt shows off the Colorburst collection so beautifully and the the white sashing provides a clean frame for the lively blocks. We love the scalloped border, too! 👏

Next stop on today's Island Batik Aurifil Threaded Chaos Blog Hop is Solomae at Cuddle Cat Quiltworks!

Also made with the Berry Crush collection, her quilt shows just how versatile this fabric collection is! While Sarah’s gorgeous finish that we shared earlier today became a bold star, Solomae's Butterfly Tracks takes on a completely different look with delicate decorative stitching, and white appliquéd butterflies fluttering across the surface. Wow! 🦋

To make the quilt, Solomae used perfectly matching Aurifil thread, AccuQuilt GO! Crazy Quilt and Critters dies, Microtex needles by SCHMETZneedles, Fusible cotton batting by Hobbs Quilt Batting, and her oliso iron.

Next up on the Island Batik Aurifil Threaded Chaos Blog Hop are two stunning quilts showing off our latest Berry Crush collection. Designed for Jennifer Thomas of Curlicue Creations, this grouping of 20 batiks bursts with rich shades of pinks, purples, and deep berries, layered with botanical and floral batik patterns that feel lush and full of life.

The first stop is Sarah at Pitcher's Boutique LLC! From the first cut to the final stitch, this quilt was a true creative journey that involved re-making the entire top! The outcome blossomed into a stunning star design, radiating movement and balance ⭐ Fantastic job, Sarah!!

To make the quilt, Sarah used coordinating Aurifil thread in 50wt, Fusible Cotton batting by Hobbs Quilt Batting and oliso Mini Project iron.

Welcome to Day 1 of the Island Batik Ambassador Threaded Chaos Blog Hop!

Today's featured Island Batik collection is Aurora, designed by Deb Tucker's Studio 180 Design! Blending cool blues, purples, and fresh greens with playful, energetic motifs, Aurora echoes the shimmering beauty of the northern lights. Coming to your local quilt shops soon!

Brenda at Songbird Designs Page paired the fabric from the Aurora collection with matching Aurifil thread and made this quilt, bold and full of movement and energy.

To make the quilt, Brenda used 4 shades of 50 wt Aurifil thread, Double Sided Fusible batting by Hobbs Quilt Batting, an 80/12 Nonstick needle by SCHMETZneedles and her Mini oliso iron.
