The Caryle seventh- and eighth-grade soccer team lost to Salem 6-1.
Adysen Pracht scored a goal for Carlyle.
Kayne Rhynes scored three goals for Salem. Gabe Tomason, Hayden Dasch and Braelyn Holzhausen all scored one goal each for Salem.

There was a rededication ceremony and 175th anniversary celebration of Scott Masonic Lodge No. 79 in Carlyle on Saturday. The lodge was chartered on Dec. 10, 1849 in Peoria by Most Worshipful Grand Master William C. Hobbs and Grand Secretary Thomas J. Pickett.

The Carlyle volleyball team went 5-0 to win the fourth annual Carlyle Lady Indians Volleyball Tournament for the third straight year. Carlyle is 8-4 on the season.
Carlyle beat Flora 25-10, 25-21; Patoka 25-8, 25-8; Lebanon 25-6, 25-4; Marissa 25-18, 26-24; and North Clay 25-16, 25-7.
North Clay finished 4-1. Marissa was third at 3-2. Patoka was fourth at 2-3. Flora was fifth at 1-4. Lebanon was sixth at 0-5.
Carlyle plays at Greenville on Monday.

The Carlyle Junior Indian fifth and sixth grade football team beat Bartelso/Germantown 21-0.
Masyn McArthur had two touchdown runs and a conversion run for Carlyle. Liam Crawford had a touchdown run and a conversion run.
Masyn McArthur completed a pass to Eli Sutherland for a first down in the second quarter.

The Carlyle Junior Indian seventh and eighth grade football team lost to Bartelso/Germantown 12-7.
A Richie Wesling touchdown run and Carson Fougeron conversion run put Carlyle up 7-0 in the second quarter.
Carlyle had that lead until the fourth quarter.
Nolan Hesker threw a touchdown pass to Reese Harre to get Bartelso within 7-6. Bartelso stopped Carlyle on its next possession. Wyatt Korte had a touchdown run to put Bartelso/Germantown up 12-7.
Branton Overturf had an interception for Carlyle. Seth Richardson blocked a punt in the second quarter. Quarterback Wyatt Gebke completed a pass to Zyan Shorts for a first down in the second quarter.
Reese Harre had a fumble recovery for Bartelso/Germantown.

The Carlyle Junior High School baseball team lost to Centralia 14-1 in six innings.
Aiden Kleine had an RBI single for Carlyle. Drew Selle had a hit and scored a run.
Carlyle plays at Greenville on Monday.

The Carlyle Junior High School softball team beat Centralia 5-2.
Piper Leath threw a complete game six-hitter with nine strikeouts.
Lydia Rhodes had two hits. Kinsley Diekemper had a hit and scored two runs. Madisyn Peebles had a hit and scored a run. Lucy Selle had a hit. Paisley Lindahl and Kenadee Blumenstein both scored a run.
Carlyle plays at Wesclin on Tuesday.

The Central football team moved to 3-0 with a 48-21 home win over Red Bud.
Preston Baker was 11-for-12 passing for 195 yards and three touchdowns. Carter Deien had five catches for 97 yards. Griffen Becker had three catches for 69 yards and two touchdowns. Kaden Rakers had a 7-yard touchdown catch. Kameron Biggs had one catch for 29 yards and Kai Toennies had one catch for 12 yards. Conlan Haar was 2-for-2 passing for 30 yards and one touchdown. Nate Behrman had a 24-yard touchdown catch. Aidan Huegen had an eight-yard catch.
Cole Davis had five carries for 101 yards and two touchdowns. Kaden Rakers had four carries for 59 yards. Kameron Biggs had seven carries for 31 yards.
Central led 13-7 after the first quarter. The Cougars outscored the Musketeers 28-0 in the second quarter to take a 41-7 lead into halftime. The Cougars led 48-7 after the third quarter.
Gavin Baldwin had 140 rushing yards and two touchdowns for Red Bud.
Central opens conference play on Friday at Freeburg.

The Aviston baseball team moved to 9-2 with an 11-1 six-inning win over Albers/Damiansville. Albers/Damiansville is 3-6.
Brant Henss had three hits, including a triple, with one RBI and four runs scored for Aviston. Bryce Henss had two hits, including a double, with two RBIs. Trent Kehrer had a hit, three RBIs and one run scored. Canaan Zurliene had a hit, RBI and run scored. Cam Von Bokel pitched three innings, allowing no runs on four hits with three strikeouts. Nolan Tebbe pitched three innings, allowing one unearned run on two hits with one strikeout.
Dylan Wuebbels had a hit and scored a run for Albers/Damiansville. Owen Gauch, Sam Reynolds, Tucker Goestenkors, Jaxon Hubert and Liam Jung all had hits. Tucker Goestenkors had three strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings pitched.
Aviston plays at Breese District 12 on Saturday.

The Salem soccer team moved to 8-1 with a 7-1 win at Central. Central fell to 2-5.
Eli Baker had three goals and one assist for Salem. Caleb Purintun had two goals. Robby Shober had a goal and an assist. Keaton Gullion had a goal and Alex Spencer had an assist.
Anderson Flores scored for Central.
Central plays at Gibault on Monday.
