Look Who’s Cookin’ with Dawn 👩‍🍳

The favorite recipe featured in Stroll Village of WestClay this month is Mary Osborne’s poppy seed bread. Mary and her family moved to the Village seven years ago and truly love it here. Mary’s poppy seed bread was given to her as a kind gesture by one of her patients she cared for back in 2007. The bread was a generational recipe passed down and now has become a favorite among Mary’s own family and friends. Now she wants to share the love and warmth of the bread to show her love and gratitude for the community she loves and appreciates. You can learn more about the poppy seed bread and how to assemble the ingredients yourself hidden in our pages.

Meet Buckles, the Villages one and only mascot for the Village of WestClay. This cute little face has been playfully showing up all around the University Green and backyards. He’s nut-orious for getting around. We’ve decided to make him our mascot because our little friends have a very rich and deep history in Hamilton County. You could potentially see Buckles being featured in future issues. Look for his silhouette hidden in the weekly sponsor emails, the first resident to find the hidden Buckles could win a special prize. We may even have a resident photo contest where residents submit candid photos of Buckles if you see him out and near your home! We are excited to make so many fun/new memories with our mascot! Welcome “Buckles” to the Village of WestClay! Special thanks to the talented comedic writer, Terry O’Brien.
