Starting with your July 2022 issue, the magazine you and your neighbors know and love, The Village of WestClay Living became Stroll Village of WestClay.

Stroll Village of WestClay is exclusive to the WestClay, Indiana community "Delivering Neighborhood Connections" through sharing resident stories, photos, and happenings you’ve come to expect and enjoy. Through hyper-local, resident-submitted content, we create an avenue for these individuals to get to know local organizations, businesses, and their neighbors on a more personal level. Along with our print medium, we also provide digital avenues on which our residents can connect. The final component which makes us unique is the many events that we organize. Local restaurants, spas, salons, and more share their products and services in order to garner a face-to-face relationship with the residents of WestClay, Indiana. There is no better way for a business to secure long-term success than to make the right connections.

Meet Dennis and Jana Spencer — the newest residents of the Village of WestClay! 💛

After nearly 50 years of marriage, countless adventures, and raising three wonderful sons, they’ve found the place that truly feels like home.

From Vienna, Virginia to Carmel, Indiana, their journey has been one of faith, family, and divine timing — and it led them straight to a charming home on Deerstyne Green Street.

They can’t wait to be here full-time in 2026 and are already enjoying the walking paths, concerts, and friendly faces that make the Village so special. 💙

Who's Cookin' with Dawn

🐦 General Tso’s Pheasant

A wild twist on a takeout classic — perfect after a day in the field! Crispy pheasant tossed in sweet, spicy sauce with fresh broccoli. Chicken works too, but nothing beats a hunt-to-table meal.

What You’ll Need:
🥣 Brine — 1 gal water, ½ cup each salt + sugar, peppercorns, mustard + coriander seeds, smashed ginger & garlic.
🍗 Main Dish — Pheasant breasts, cornstarch, peanut oil, broccoli, salt, pepper.
🔥 Sauce — Soy sauce, Aji-Mirin, chicken stock, Sambal, honey, vinegar, hoisin, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger.

How To:
1️⃣ Brine pheasant overnight.
2️⃣ Rinse, cube, coat in cornstarch.
3️⃣ Fry golden in hot peanut oil (375°F).
4️⃣ Sear broccoli w/ garlic, salt + pepper.
5️⃣ Whisk sauce, thicken, toss everything together.
6️⃣ Serve over rice, top w/ sesame seeds, scallions + chili flakes.

Meet Marley! 🐶
This happy chocolate Lab has quickly become a favorite face around the Village. Whether he’s strolling by the lakes, stopping by local spots like Apex Chiropractic or Danny Boys, or saying hi to his best buddy Rocco (his “twin” chocolate lab), Marley always brings smiles and tail wags wherever he goes!

He’s nine years old, loves whole carrots 🥕, and is named after Bob Marley 🎶. His family — Mark, Rosa, Max, and Bethany — say they love the Village’s peaceful walks, friendly faces, and fun events. We’re lucky to have this sweet Fuzzball as part of our community! 💛

In every corner of our community, there are quiet heroes whose stories of service extend far beyond their years in uniform. This Veterans Day, we’re honored to highlight four local veterans whose courage, leadership, and generosity continue to inspire us all. 💙❤️🤍

Webber LaGrange, U.S. Navy
At just 16, Webber enlisted during WWII and later went on to serve as National Chairman of the American Legion for 20 years. His lifetime of service reminds us of that duty never ends.

Hermann Fitschen, U.S. Army
Born in Germany and drafted into the U.S. Army after moving to America, Hermann served with pride and celebrated 68 years of marriage with his wife, Ingrid.

Myron Kasle, U.S. Army
Stationed in Kyoto after WWII, Myron helped rebuild Japan as part of the U.S. Army of Occupation — a mission of restoration and peace.

Chuck Johnson, U.S. Navy
From diesel submarines to the groundbreaking USS Nautilus, Chuck helped pioneer the future of naval engineering before returning home to start a new chapter.

November Cover featuring: Jada Jones

Eighth-grader Jada brought home the National American Miss Jr. Teen title over Labor Day weekend in Indianapolis! 👑 At just 13, she was the youngest in her division and shined in personal introduction, interview, and formal wear to earn the overall crown.

She also placed in photogenic, talent, and spokesmodel, won for her résumé entry, and earned academic recognition! 🌟

After a life-saving heart transplant, former NBA player Scot Pollard and his wife, Dawn, founded Pearls of Life to support transplant families and honor organ donors.
