🤩 James Cook State Farm HIT of the WEEK 🤩
Our BIG HITTERS are Khloe Davis, MaKenzy Martin, and Victoria Woods. These three ladies competed at the Special Olympics Illinois Summer Games and represented the Brownsville School Beagles of White County well! Khloe took home a gold, MaKenzy won silver for the softball throw, and Victoria got silver in the mini javelin. Congratulations to Khloe, MaKenzy, and Victoria on a great job!

🆘Urgent Rescue or adopter needed for Bruno ASAP🛑

Bruno has been in the McLeansboro Animal Shelter for weeks and needs a home or rescue secured by the end of this week‼️

Bruno is a male Rottweiller mix. He is approx. 1 1/2 years old and weighs around 40 lbs. He needs to be in a home with no male dogs and no cats, at least until he can get some proper training. He is good with people and kids.

OK...so not that this is going to help one iota, but we're gonna give it a shot. Feel free to share.

2025 White County Fair FAQ (that stands for Frequently Asked Questions)

When is the fair? It's happening now...July 5th - 12th.

When do the rides start? They'll be in operation Tuesday - Saturday.

What time do the rides start each day? That's really up to the carnival operator. In the past, they start operation when people start showing up on the fairgrounds and that's USUALLY around 5-5:30pm...earlier on Saturday.

How much are carnival armbands and/or ride tickets? Again, this is up to the carnival. And despite my efforts to try to track the operator down to get details, I've been unsuccessful. So we'll know for sure on Tuesday when you come out and grab a corn dog if I don't find out before.

Are the food booths open for lunch? Yes, some of them are. But that's also up to them. We can't make them. The more people go out there looking for food, the more likely they'll see opportunity and open up.

Is there bingo? No, unless you want to play our unofficial bingo which you can grab your free card on our page while you enjoy the sights and sounds that only the White County Fair can bring you.

Why is there no bingo? Couple of reasons. Bingo is not a game that just any Tom, Dick, or Harry can put on. You have to be licensed and the fair board is not licensed. Furthermore, the fair has been moved to coincide with the White County 4-H Fair and the youngsters need use of the floral hall through Wednesday. The Carmi VFW offers Bingo weekly and we think you'd have a great time there! Check 'em out!

When is the demo? It's Saturday at 7pm. You can find a full schedule of events on the White County Fair website at http://www.whitecountyfair.com

What are Dirt Drags/Mud Sling? Think drag races, but on dirt plus water.

What are the rules for pig penning? You're not supposed to touch the pig. You don't get to keep the pig you pen. You can not harm the pig. Your job as a pig penner is to corral it as a team and encourage it into the smaller pen within the pig pen. Pretend you're a Border Collie and you're trying to get sheep from one pasture to another.

When does the fair end? Saturday, July 12th is the last day of the fair. It all wraps up with the Demolition Derby which gets underway at 7pm.

Hope❤️ This beautiful girl was surrendered to White County Animal Control due to no fault of her own. Hope is a gorgeous pit mix girl. She is guessed to be around 4 years old. She is very sweet and ... those EARS😍.
