WROY/WRUL Local Sports Recap - 08/12/2026

The Carmi-White County junior high softball team began their season yesterday in Marion against Carterville, and the Lady Bullpups fell by a final score of 10-0.

Graecelyn O’Neill picked up the lone base hit for the Lady Pups.

Carmi will be back in action this afternoon as they hose Hamilton County, the CWC junior high baseball team will also host Hamilton County today.

The Carmi-White County Boys Golf team will begin their season tomorrow as they travel to Mt. Carmel for the Mt. Carmel Invite. The Girls Golf team will travel to Mt. Carmel on Friday.

This Friday will be the annual Carmi-White County High School Fall Sports Preview. All fall sport athletes will be recognized, and the night will be capped off with a scrimmage from the CWC Football team.

The event will be streamed on the WRUL Sports YouTube Channel beginning at 6:30 PM.

WROY/WRUL Local Sports Recap - 08/11/2026

The Carmi-White County Junior High Baseball team traveled to Salem yesterday for their first game of the season, and the Bullpups fell by a final score of 11-10 in 8 innings.

Jack Taylor went 3-for-5 with 3 runs scored.
Beckam Moore went 2-for-5 with a run scored.
Tyson May went 2-for-4 with 4 RBI and 2 runs scored.

Bennett Moore, Sam Lynn, Jerrick Rager, Will Lamont, and Gage Whetstone all recorded hits in the loss.

The Bullpups start the season with an 0-1 record. They’ll be back in action on Wednesday when they host Hamilton County.

The Carmi-White County Junior High Softball team will begin their season this afternoon when they travel to Marion to take on Carterville.

The game was moved to the Oasis Dome in Marion due to the heat. The Lady Bullpups will also host Hamilton County tomorrow.
