Woodland Police Department is warning the community about fraudulent checks and fake business promotion letters being sent by mail, email, and text message.

These scams are designed to trick you into depositing fake checks or engaging with false offers.

What to do if you receive one:

Do NOT deposit the check.

Do NOT click on any links.

Do NOT respond to the message.

Always confirm the authenticity of any check with your bank before depositing.

Stay alert. Protect yourself. Share this message to help prevent fraud in our community.

Yesterday, our patrol team recovered a loaded firearm during a proactive traffic stop, taking another dangerous weapon off the streets of West Sacramento.
This recovery reflects the dedication of our patrol teams and their ongoing efforts to protect our community through proactive policing. We’re proud of their commitment to keeping West Sacramento safe.
