My friend Stan Laing share these thoughts this morning:

““To be grateful for the good things that happen in our lives is easy, but to be grateful for all of our lives - the good as well as the bad, the moments of joy as well as the moments of sorrow, the successes as well as the failures, the rewards as well as the rejections - that requires hard spiritual work. Still, we are only truly grateful people when we can say thank you to all that has brought us to the present moment."
Fr Henri Nouwen

No matter the circumstances, no longer is it "Why me?", instead it's, "Why not me..."

In this moment, am I grateful?

With a Heart of Gratitude - Peace be with you.

Jesus, I Trust in You going into the storm. I Trust in You in the storm. I Trust in You coming out of the storm. I'm grateful to You for Always being with me, thank you. “

Several years ago, I realized that GRATITUDE is the key.
Gratitude for EVERYTHING, good and bad.
It is ok to have low moments and struggles, life happens.
But be grateful for them.

Scientific Death of Jesus

For the next 60 seconds, set aside whatever you're doing and take this opportunity! Let's see if Satan can stop this.

At the age of 33, Jesus was condemned to death.

At the time, crucifixion was the "worst" death. Only the worst criminals were condemned to be crucified. Yet it was even more dreadful for Jesus. Unlike other criminals condemned to death by crucifixion, Jesus was to be nailed to the cross by His hands and feet.

Each nail was 6 to 8 inches long.

The nails were driven into His wrist, not into His palms as is commonly portrayed. There's a tendon in the wrist that extends to the shoulder. The Roman guards knew that when the nails were being hammered into the wrist, that tendon would tear and break, forcing Jesus to use His back muscles to support Himself so that He could breathe.

Both of His feet were nailed together. Thus He was forced to support Himself on the single nail that impaled His feet to the cross. Jesus could not support Himself with His legs because of the pain so He was forced to alternate between arching His back then using His legs just to continue to breathe. Imagine the struggle, the pain, the suffering, the courage.

Jesus endured this reality for over 3 hours.

Yes, over 3 hours! Can you imagine this kind of suffering? A few minutes before He died,
Jesus stopped bleeding. He was simply pouring water from his wounds.

From common images we see wounds to His hands and feet and even the spear wound to His side... But do we realize His wounds were actually made in his body. A hammer driving large nails through the wrist, the feet overlapped and an even larger nail hammered through the arches, then a Roman guard piercing His side with a spear. But before the nails and the spear, Jesus was whipped and beaten. The whipping was so severe that it tore the flesh from His body. The beating so horrific that His face was torn and his beard ripped from His face. The crown of thorns cut deeply into His scalp. Most men would not have survived this torture.

He had no more blood to bleed out, only water poured from His wounds. The human adult body contains about 3.5 liters (just less than a gallon) of blood.

Jesus poured all 3.5 liters of his blood; He had three nails hammered into His members; a crown of thorns on His head and, beyond that, a Roman soldier who stabbed a spear into His chest..

All these without mentioning the humiliation He suffered after carrying His own cross for almost 2 kilometers, while the crowd spat in his face and threw stones (the cross was almost 30 kg of weight, only for its higher part, where His hands were nailed).

Jesus had to endure this experience, to open the gates of Heaven, so that you can have free access to God.

So that your sins could be "washed" away. All of them, with no exception! Don't ignore this situation.

JESUS CHRIST DIED FOR YOU!

He died for you! It is easy to pass jokes or foolish photos by e-mail, but when it comes to God, sometimes you feel ashamed to forward to others because you are worried of what they may think about you.

God has plans for you, show all your friends what He experienced to save you. Now think about this! May God bless your life!

If you are not ashamed to do this, please, follow Jesus' instructions. He said (Matthew 10:32 & 33): "Everyone therefore who acknowledges me before others, I also will acknowledge
before My Father in heaven; but whosoever denies Me before others, I will deny before My Father in heaven."🙏

The devil appeared to three monks and said to them: If I gave you the power to change something in the past, what would you change?

The first of them, with great apostolic fervor, answered: "I would prevent you from causing Adam and Eve to fall into sin, so that mankind would not be separated from God."

The second, a man full of mercy, said to him: “I would keep you from turning away from God and condemning yourself forever.”

The third of them was the simplest and instead of answering the temptor, he knelt down, made the Sign of the Cross and prayed, saying, "Lord, deliver me from the temptation of what could have been and wasn't."

The demon, yelling loud and trembling in pain, be gone.

The other two, surprised, said to him, “Brother, why did you react like that?” ”

He answered them:

“First: We should NEVER dialogue with the enemy.

Second: NOBODY in the world has the power to change the past.

Third: Satan's INTEREST was not to prove our virtue, but to hold us in the past, so that we neglect the present, the only time God gives us His grace and we can cooperate with it to do His will.

Of all the devils, the one that most detains men and prevents them from being happy is "what could have been and wasn't". The past is left to the Mercy of God and the future to His Providence. But the present is in His love. Live today loving God with all the strength of your heart and those God has given you.

From Steve Ray

"Was Jesus a Palestinian, immigrant son of an unmarried mother?

Every Christmas we get swamped with all kinds of crazy ideas — attempts to debunk Jesus, Mary, Israel and the Catholic Church.

This year we have heard repeatedly that Jesus was a Palestinian. Even scholarly works seem to assert the same.

Was Jesus a Palestinian?

The answer is, NO! The word “Palestinian" originates from the word Philistine, and it was applied by Rome in the 2nd century to the land of Israel — Galilee, Samaria, and Judea. Jesus, living in the first century was a Judean Jew, not a Palestinian. He would’ve never heard the Roman imposed word in his lifetime. Anyone who uses that word in relation to Jesus is being anachronistic and should be corrected.

The land surrounding Jerusalem, the land known to Jesus was called Judea. We find the word "Palestinian" zero times in the Bible, but we find the word Judea 45 times. If one wants to be historically and biblically accurate, they would never say Jesus was a Palestinian Jew. They would say he was a Jew from Judea. In fact, the word Jew itself originates from the word Judea.

Was Jesus born to an u***d mother?

Anyone who says that Jesus was born to an unmarried woman has no clue what they’re talking about. Even today in the Middle East betrothal means legally married, though the spouses have not yet moved in together. Marriage is a two-step process. To be betrothed is to be legally contractually married. However, about a year later the groom comes for the bride and takes her into his home. Today there is a ceremony that that seals the deal. This is hardly u***d. Mary was not an "u***d mother".

Were they exiles and immigrants?

Also no. They had family, in Nazareth, and Bethlehem and in Egypt. There was a large Jewish community in Egypt — modern day Cairo. All of these areas were in one Empire, under the Roman Empire and therefore you could travel between them "without a passport". They were hardly exiled to another country or illegal immigrants. And when King Herod died, they left their Jewish community in Egypt and went back to their Jewish community In Nazareth.

Be very careful what you listen to. The secular, modern media has every reason to spew their secular propaganda. They have every reason to deceive us in the promotion of their anti-Christian agenda. They try to deceive us. They are also very ignorant of the facts.

Frankly we should just say “no thanks” — and then rebuke them!"
