The Sacramento County Water Agency (SCWA) has completed its biggest construction project ever.

The Arden Service Area Pipe and Meter Installation Project spanned 10 years, and SCWA installed approximately 38 miles of new water distribution pipelines and more than 3,000 new water meters.

The project also replaced waterlines that have been in service for decades. Some of the oldest pipes were nearly 85 years old, installed during World War II.

The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) has named Willard (Will) Pope, M.Ed., as its new Chief Administrator, Human Resources.

“Will brings a valuable combination of human resources expertise, labor-relations experience, and school-site leadership,” said Sacramento County Superintendent of Schools, David W. Gordon.

Destination Aviation is a curated program for students ages 12 to 18. Students will have the opportunity to engage directly with pilots, engineers, mechanics, air traffic controllers, aerospace manufacturers, military representatives and educators, gaining a firsthand look at the range of careers available within aviation.

Following a Q&A panel with experts from the nation’s top aerospace and defense organizations, students will move through the event space and engage directly with panelists and exhibitors representing the full spectrum of aviation careers. Students will have the opportunity to explore hands-on displays, working equipment, simulators and prototypes.
