I know youth baseball and softball tournaments have been taking place, so if your child or player have had a standout performance or a big moment in a game or tournament, please reach out with a picture of the athlete and a brief description of what they did.

We would love to showcase them in The Advertiser, and give them their moment to shine.

A quick note to share about Coach Dip, and unfortunately just learned about so it was not mentioned in today's story.

Dipzinski has been chosen to help coach in the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association's All-Star Game on Monday at Comerica Park.

Dipzinski, who is a lifelong Tigers fan, will coach at the home of Major League Baseball's Detroit Tigers alongside Flushing's Stephen Burdis and St. John's Jake Parker at 7 p.m.

The game features top senior baseball players from the state of Michigan with one player from the Saginaw Bay Area competing (Caden Sommerfield of Frankenmuth).

In a tightly contested game, USA found itself in unfamiliar territory after falling to Brown City 10-8 and closing out a span of 21 consecutive regional championships.

The Patriots will have a new look next season after graduating seven players including starting pitching Olivia Green. USA also graduates Cierra Betson, Layla Bolzman, Macy Prime, Erin Jubar, McKenna Kemp, and Kate Beagle.

Millington softball coach Greg Hudie reached a career milestone on Saturday when the Cardinals knocked off Marine City to win a regional by winning his 500th career game.

The Cardinals advanced to Tuesday's quarterfinal contest at Mott Community College, where they fell 3-2 in extra innings to New Lothrop.

Following Saturday's Division 3 Quarterfinal loss to Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest, Millington native and longtime baseball coach, Chris "Dip" Dipzinski, officially called it a career as the Cardinals head coach.

Before bowing out, Dip was at the helm for the Cardinals regional championship win on Saturday -- the first in program history.

MILLINGTON — Millington coach Chris Dipzinski has spent so much time with the Cardinals baseball program that he coached the parents of some of the players currently on the roster.
