The 2025 all-Thumb all-star game was capped off with a high-scoring boys' basketball game, with the west squad claiming the victory.

The west team won 90-82, in the highest combined scoring game in the 12-year history of the contest, with Brad Coleman taking home MVP honors.

Kingston's Austin DeRoseau won the dunk contest while Ubly's Brayden Franzel was the 3-point shootout champion.

CASS CITY — The Thumb Sportswriters Association All-Thumb All-Star boys’ basketball game put the finishing touches on a fantastic evening of basketball in Cass City on Friday night.

Kingston's Meeghan Flikkie earned MVP honors for her 17-point performance, as the west squad defeated the east 58-45 in the 12th annual Thumb Sportswriters' Association All-Thumb All-Star Game.

Lauren Krug helped Kingston to the awards sweep with a 11 3-pointers out of a possible 18 perfect score.

Three area wrestlers that are members of the Wrangler Wrestling Club recently qualified for the Freestyle and Greco-Roman Wrestling Nationals in Fargo.

Caro's Ashton Prahin and Tyler Enos along with Marlette's Jacobi Outman will be traveling to North Dakota State University in July to compete against some of the top 16u talent.

BATTLE CREEK — The Michigan USA Wrestling Freestyle and Greco-Roman state championships took place May 31 and June 1 at Kellogg Arena.

A few moments from today’s Division 4 state semifinal game between Unionville-Sebewaing and Saginaw Michigan Lutheran Seminary.

The Patriots prevailed 4-1 and will face Mendon in the D4 finals on Saturday at 3 p.m.

This will be the second time in three seasons the two teams meet in the state title game, and the third consecutive year USA and Mendon have played each other at Secchia Stadium including a semifinal showdown last year.

Olivia Green finishes with 15 strikeouts and Macy Prime, Kate Beagle, Nataley Harder and Green drove in run one each as Unionville-Sebewaing earns a 4-1 win over Saginaw MLS.

The Patriots will play the winner of Hillman and Mendon tomorrow at 3 p.m. in the Division 4 state championship game.
