To close the year and celebrate our first full year as Wedgewood, we’re hosting a three-night New Year’s Butter Dinner — a four-course winter tasting where butter leads every course.

The menu is built around butter in its most expressive forms: whipped and delicate, deeply browned, seaweed-kissed, herb-infused, and sticky-sweet. Expect thoughtful technique, winter comfort, and a progression that moves from bright and saline to rich and indulgent as the evening unfolds.

This dinner also offers a preview of where our kitchen is headed in 2026: more intention, more refinement, and a continued focus on flavor through technique. Filet mignon and halibut will make an appearance, alongside seasonal vegetables, savory custard, and a final spoonful of butter-toffee comfort.

Optional wine pairings are available and designed to mirror the rhythm of the meal — celebratory at the start, mineral and savory through the middle, and warming as the night comes to a close.

Three nights only:
December 29, 30, and 31.
Tickets starting at $95.
Seating is intentionally limited.
Menu & tickets available here: https://www.eventbrite.com/cc/new-years-butter-dinner-4800785

This is a fully seated, coursed and ticketed dinner. Our regular menu and OpenTable reservations will not be available.

Thank you to Axios for naming us one of the top 10 new restaurants to open in the Triangle in 2025 - the only Carrboro-Chapel Hill restaurant to make the list. We're so grateful to our diners, regulars, supporters, staff, and this wonderful community. Thank you!

Wedgewood was named "Best of the Best" New Restaurant in the Triangle by IndyWeek — and while it’s not a James Beard or a Michelin star, in some ways it almost means more.

Because this one is voted on by people.

By regulars, neighbors, date-night diners, solo bar sitters, and folks who just really love intentionality on a plate and a glass of wine. You don’t campaign for it. You don’t submit a packet. You just show up, night after night, and hope people feel something.

Every year, the Indy list is (rightfully) filled with incredible Raleigh and Durham institutions. So to see Wedgewood — tucked into this sleepy, chilled-out corner of the Triangle — among the winners this year is deeply meaningful.

We’re especially proud to be in the company of so many places we genuinely admire, right here with us in Orange County:

Mediterranean Deli — welcome back, legends

Glasshalfull — our incubator home for two formative years

Vimilia's Curry Blossom Cafe — a Chapel Hill icon, full stop

Sunrise Biscuit Kitchen — IYKYK

Jade Palace — a Carrboro go-to we’re so lucky to have

Al's Burger Shack — proof that Chapel Hill does burgers very, very right

Almost all of them within walking distance of Wedgewood. Almost all of them built on years — decades — of showing up for their community.

So this isn’t just a thank-you to everyone who voted for us (though truly, thank you). It’s also a reminder to support all your favorites this holiday season. Say congratulations. Eat local. Celebrate the places that make this corner of the Triangle feel like home.

Most of all, thank you to our team — our chef, prep cooks, cheesemongers, servers, hosts, bartenders, dishwashers, and managers who have poured their hearts into this place from day one. We’re just six wee months into being open, heading into our very first holiday season as Wedgewood, and this recognition belongs to you as much as it does to anyone.

From Carrboro & Chapel Hill — with a lot of gratitude and a very full heart. 🥂🧀

Chapel Hill + Carrboro friends — we’re doing something very special this winter at Wedgewood, just in time to give the gift of an authentic foodie experience.

Introducing “Eat the World. One Sunday at a Time.” A new Global Winter Series that travels through six of the world’s most iconic cold-weather destinations — all through cheese, wine, and the small bites each region is famous for.

Every other Sunday from January through March, we’ll explore a different city’s winter food traditions, from Parisian bistro classics to Basque pintxos to the cozy minimalism of Copenhagen. Think: curated wine flights, regional cheeses, beautifully crafted snacks, and storytelling that transports you straight to each destination.

This year’s destinations:

🇫🇷 Paris – buttery, elegant, and indulgent
🇫🇷 Burgundy – terroir, tradition, and iconic wines
🇮🇹 Turin – truffles, chocolate, and Northern Italian comfort
🇩🇰 Copenhagen – hygge, Nordic cheese & elemental flavors
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Edinburgh – clothbound cheddar, bold red wines, fireside vibes
🇪🇸 San Sebastián – bright Basque pintxos & coastal wines

Each class includes:
✨ A guided wine flight
✨ Five paired regional bites (cheeses, accoutrements + snacks)
✨ A deep dive into local food traditions + winter rituals
✨ A take-home guide with recipes + regional stories
✨ Access to limited cheeses & wines selected just for the series

Seats are limited. Tickets + dates here: https://www.eventbrite.com/cc/global-winter-cheese-wine-series-4799325?just_published=true

Come travel with us — one Sunday at a time.

Our first-ever Thanksgiving cookbooklette™ is here — and it exists because of the people who cooked, tasted, and learned with us this season.

This little book grew from months of planning, testing, and full-on kitchen mind-melds with our team, our class audiences, and the iconic .castle , who joined us for our first Thanksgiving Masterclass.

Together we fed dozens of curious, generous guests: biscuits, compound butters, deviled eggs, colcannon, butter-poached surprises, and Sheri’s dark chocolate pie crowned with goat cheese.

Thanksgiving is built on memory — the dishes we grew up with, the rituals we keep, the flavors that anchor us to home. At Wedgewood, we’ve learned that even the most traditional meal can shine brighter with the right little touch: a truly great butter, a cheese with story, a wine that opens up the table.

This cookbooklette gathers the recipes we love most, the upgrades that actually matter, and the flavors that make people close their eyes after one perfect bite.

To Sheri — thank you for your wisdom and generosity.
To everyone who joined our classes — thank you for trusting us to feed you.
This is for you.

FEAST: Thanksgiving Recipes, Rituals & Butter-Forward Moments is available now as an ebook.

The right butter really does matter — especially as you roll into Thanksgiving cooking mode.

Meet the Wedgewood Five: Five butters. Five moods. From the workhorses to the show ponies — and where and when they shine. For a deeper dive, head to our Wedgewords blog where we break down how (and why) to use the right one for the right dish.

Because whether you’re basting a bird, baking a pie, or finishing vegetables, the right butter turns cooking into alchemy.

Which butter personality are you? Let us know in the comments.

✨ The Minimalist – Butter of Parma
Delicate, unsalted, and beautifully malleable — for control, clarity, and transformation.

💛 The Romantic – Isigny Ste-Mère, Normandy
Soft, indulgent, and impossibly charming. Cultured and golden from sea air and grass.

🐎 The Workhorse – Welsh & Irish Butters
Bold, golden, and reliable. The butter that shows up every day and never disappoints.

💫 The Purist – Amish Butter
High-fat, slow-melting, endlessly forgiving. Sweet cream churned on small farms.

👑 The Diva – Bordier, Brittany
Exuberant, briny, and hand-kneaded to perfection. High-maintenance and worth the trouble.

The holidays are when butter earns its keep. It’s in every pie crust and pan sauce, every biscuit, bake, and compound spread. It’s the difference between fine and unforgettable. So before you dive into the season of baking, basting, and entertaining, it’s worth knowing a little more about the quiet hero behind it all — and how to choose the right butter for the right moment.

Because there’s butter, and then there’s ✨butter ✨ The kind that makes you stop mid-sentence, wondering how something so simple can taste so layered. In this week’s blog, I trace the moment that changed everything — from my toddler’s noodles in Charleston to the French coastal pastures of Isigny — and break down what really separates the extraordinary from the everyday.

We’ll talk about the four forces that make great butter what it is — grass, culture, salt, and fat — and introduce you to The Wedgewood Five: the five butters we almost always have on hand, from the delicate to the diva, the ones that carry us through every season and every sauce.

It’s a love letter to cultured butter, the lost art of fermentation, and why some butters ruin you for all the rest.
