Boil water advisory issued by Milton
Water customers in Milton were placed under a “precautionary Boil Water Advisory” on Monday, Dec. 30 after a service outage in select areas.
Around 3:30 p.m. Monday, the City of Milton posted the Boil Water Advisory for customers on Kentucky Highway 36 from Ferry Street to the City Limits going east and from Ferry Street to Edgewater Drive going west and any locations in between that have experienced low pressure or no water.
The advisory is considered a “precautionary action” while follow-up testing of water is being conducted. The advisory will be lifted, with the approval of the Kentucky Division of Water, at which time the water tests normal.
Residents are instructed to boil water properly once service is restored — meaning bringing water to a “rolling” boil, letting it boil for three minutes, and then letting it cool before using — or use bottled water.
Check the City of Milton, Kentucky page for updates. Residents with questions or seeking additional information, may call the Milton Sewage Department at 502-268-5223.
