A mammogram is an x-ray of the breast that looks for changes that may be signs of breast cancer. Getting regular screening with a mammogram is the most reliable way to find breast cancer early. Breast cancer that's found early, when it's small and has not spread, is easier to treat successfully.
Women between 40 and 44 should have the option to start screening with a mammogram every year. Women 45 to 54 should get mammograms every year. Women 55 and older can switch to a mammogram every other year, or they can choose to continue yearly mammograms.

This satellite image really tells the story across Greene County. Notice the dramatic snow line — Some we northern parts of the county is clearly snow-covered, while the southern part only picked up a light dusting, if anything at all.☃️❄️
It’s a perfect example of just how unpredictable winter weather can be. A difference of just a few miles can mean the difference between measurable snow and bare ground.

Weather like this can be frustrating at times, but it’s also incredibly fascinating to see from space! 🌎❄️

From 12/09 Mutal Aid Call to Macoupin Co.

We received a mutual aid call to Macoupin County, near Palmyra, for a large hay shed fire with farm equipment involved. This was a lengthy, multi-agency operation. We are thankful to receive the call and are happy to help our neighbors when it is needed.

We highly value the support of our neighboring departments and are glad to be able to provide it back as well. These partnerships help keep our rural communities safe and help make operations go smoothly.
