I hope this post helps out some night hikers, particularly those who walk with no light at in . I wear thick boots, snake gaiters, and motorcycle shin/knee pads. I've probably been bitten several times at night out at the LBJ Grasslands but never notice it because of the thickness of that protection.

are out there and like a lot of other , they like to migrate at night, including across the concrete path. You can not see them with the ambient light and it's a fallacy to think they will always slither away when you get close.

Home boy here decided to turn and chase me aggressively. I knew something was up as soon as I saw the coil. Even then, I did not back up enough.

Quite the encounter and still be able to get a good video :)

I remember an episode of The Rifleman as a kid where a crawled underneath Lucas McCain's blanket. Freaked me out, This wrangle does not seem to mind multiple rattlers in his bag. It does go to illustrate some of our misconceptions about snakes in close quarters.

On the subject of TV shows, remember the Kung Fu episode where Cane walked through the pit of rattlers?

So, how smart is an ostrich? The guide said their eye is larger than their brain. So, the seem to think that everything outside the tour bus is an offer of food ... including my elbow.

Now, it didn't hurt; kind of like a pinch. I was curios whether they were keying on the white good bags or anything outside the bus.

One of my fondest memories at Yellowstone was taking a turnout off the main road. In less than 50 yards, we came across a small herd of bison. They walked right by after stopping the car. One looked me straight in the eye as he walked past.

This is one of my favorites. I love filming and and then sharing the experience with others. I'll take that over $$$ any day :) I have to admit that I've never seen a baby before visiting the Ft. Worth Zoo. I was fortunate enough to capture him playing in the water, which proved to be the highlight of my visit ... and apparently many others given the crowd.

I was also fortunate to get a good spot to steady the camera. Filmed with an with Apple Log and and CPL. Graded in Davinci Resolve Studio.

If you were awake last night in north Texas, then you know what went down. This video was extracted from a long-form video I shot last night as the worst part of the moved across .
