Day one at Kaboom-Con was a success! A bunch of wonderful independent comic supporters came on over and picked up their copies of Dragon Whisperer, Enigmatown and other fine releases from Red 5 Comics! The night was capped off by some wonderful music and dancing (yep... Dancing) by my buddy Jason Starling's band Fast Times! Thank you all so much!

Off to day two and more comic fun!

Hi friends,

If you have, not only a surviving, but a thriving, comic shop, for 37 years, you're doing something(s) right.

That's the wonderful Joe Field and his FlyCo Retailing Brigade at his world famous Flying Colors Comics & Other Cool Stuff shop in Concord, California.

Today was the official world premiere release event of my graphic novel Enigmatown, published by Red 5 Comics, written and lettered by myself, Alex De Luca, art by Victoria Carmina, with Free Comic Book Day art by Abrielle Terzian and cover AND frontispiece (look it up) art by the legendary Gary Amaro, who was there with me at the event.

I'm glad to point out that the numerous doubts I received of an event In the middle of the afternoon on a Wednesday having any success were completely unfounded.

It was a fantastic success! In fact, I did better at this middle of the afternoon weekday 2-hour long store event than I've done at a weekend several-hour long convention.

Thank you, Joe, Flying Colors, cover artist Gary Amaro and very much most importantly you, the reader, who took their very valuable time and spent their money on this graphic novel. I hope you enjoy it.

It was a special treat seeing my friend Chuck Todd come by 💙.

So excited!

Today I met up with and was the first person to get my (Alex De Luca🙂) Red 5 Comics graphic novel Enigmatown signed by the amazing Free Comic Book Day edition artist, Abrielle Terzian!

Abrielle is a fantastic artist and wonderful person, and I am humbled and honored to have worked with her!

Since I know you will ask, you can ask your friendly neighborhood local comic shop to get you some copies of the Red 5 Comics 2025 Free Comic Book Day edition AND, more importantly, have them order you a copy of the Enigmatown graphic novel which comes out Wednesday August 27th!

You CAN order it from the usual online outlets contained in this link, but, doing it at a comic shop would be so much better and a lot more fun! 🙂
