Hot off the heels of his retirement, Tom Miller stopped by the studio to talk with us today. What’s it like to interview one of your news mentors, only days after his final sign-off? Nerve-wracking to say the least. Standing next to a man you’ve listened to for years, a person whose consistent tenacity and authenticity have made him a trusted news voice in southern Illinois for decades, a journalist’s words that have given you invaluable insight during your career - I simply wanted to make him proud and give him the space to say what he needed to say. I think we did that, and I’m so honored to be the interviewer… with a man who is 100% used to being on the other side of the mic and in control.

We’ll be sharing portions of Tom’s interview during the shows today - and posting it in full later this afternoon. It’s completely uncut, which is how I believe Tom would like it best.

And, we’ve been promised an update on what happens after Tom takes some time for himself… I can’t imagine we’ve heard or seen the last of Tom Miller!
