💜 Team MATallica at the Triangle ALS Walk 💜

On April 25th, our community came together at Halifax Mall in Raleigh for the Triangle ALS Walk, supporting those affected by amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). With over 5,600 new diagnoses each year, it’s vital we raise awareness and funds for research and patient care.

A huge shoutout to Team MATallica and the Thompson family for their dedication and support! Named in honor of Mat Thompsons love for heavy metal music, Team MATallica embodies strength and resilience. As highlighted in our latest issue, Mat emphasizes the importance of being present for loved ones and creating meaningful moments.

In his journey, he reminds us that while ALS can progressively affect one’s abilities, it cannot diminish the impact of love and connection. Each step taken is a step closer to finding a cure and enhancing the lives of those battling this challenging disease.

Since opening in Downtown Raleigh in 1986, Artspace has become a cornerstone of our community, hosting over 700 exhibitions and 2,500 free events while providing affordable studio space for artists. 🌟

From its roots as a visionary project backed by local leaders to being a founding organization of First Friday, Artspace has played a vital role in the revitalization of downtown. The historic building, renovated with love and creativity, has been a hub for 150+ studio artists and 100+ artists in residence.
