Most New Year’s resolutions don’t fail because of lack of motivation.

They fail because there’s no accountability.

By February, 80% of people quit. Not because the goals were unrealistic — but because they stopped tracking 📉

This week’s AI Lesson shows how to use a ChatGPT Project as a personal accountability system:

📊 Track real data (fitness, money, learning)
🧠 Spot patterns you’re too close to see
🗂️ Remember every excuse — and call you out on it
🔁 Stay consistent all year, not just January

Mark Hinkle uses one Project to track his health, income, and reading — and the difference isn’t willpower. It’s having to face my own numbers.

If your resolutions matter this year, your system has to be stronger than your excuses.

Join us at All Things AI 2026, happening in Durham, North Carolina, on March 23–24, 2026! Here's why we think it's worth your time:

The 2025 event drew 1,600 attendees. The 2026 event targets 4,000 attendees across two venues—hands-on workshops on Day 1 and keynotes and sessions on Day 2.

It's practitioner-focused. Four tracks: AI Builders (developers), AI Engineers (ML professionals), AI Users (business practitioners), and AI Executives (strategic leaders). We're deliberately avoiding the vendor-pitch-disguised-as-content that plagues most AI conferences.

Durham is a genuine tech hub: Research Triangle Park, Duke University, and a growing AI startup ecosystem. If you're flying in, you'll find more to do than attend sessions.

Early registration is open. Pricing increases in phases, so the earlier you are, the cheaper it is.

Don’t miss your chance to connect, learn, and lead in the world of AI.

You’re paying $30 per user per month for Microsoft 365 Copilot. 💸

Most teams are using it like a fancy autocomplete.

Last week’s AI Lesson breaks down 7 advanced Copilot features most users miss — tools that quietly turn Copilot from a helper into something closer to an internal AI team:

🧠 Researcher & Analyst agents for real multi-step work
📊 AI inside Excel formulas (yes, really)
📝 Memory that actually learns how you work
⚙️ Agent mode that builds dashboards end-to-end

These aren’t previews or experiments. They’re live, included in your license, and already separating power users from everyone else.

👉 Read this edition before the next one drops — and make sure you’re getting $300/month of value from the $30 you’re already paying.

Agentic AI just hit its “Linux moment.”❗

This week’s AI Deep Dive breaks down a quiet but critical shift happening right now: the agentic AI ecosystem has crystallized around two foundations solving two very different problems — and enterprises that understand both will move faster in 2025 and beyond.

🔹 AAIF (Agentic AI Foundation)

• Enterprise-grade governance
• Open standards like MCP and Goose
• Neutral ground where OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Microsoft & others collaborate
• The missing signal procurement teams have been waiting for

🔹 Agentics Foundation

• 100k+ practitioners globally
• Hands-on learning, hackathons, meetups
• Real-world implementation knowledge you won’t find in vendor docs
• A low-barrier on-ramp for builders

💡 The key insight:

This isn’t competition — it’s complementarity.
Formal governance in the front, builder community in the back.
An “AI mullet” that’s exactly how mature tech ecosystems win.

In the Deep Dive, we cover:

✅ Why MCP is already the de facto integration layer
✅ How governance unlocks enterprise adoption
✅ Where most companies are making costly missteps
✅ What to budget, build, and engage with now

👉 Read the full Deep Dive on the site — including the AI Toolbox, a strategic Productivity Prompt, and insights that didn’t fit in the email.

If agentic AI is on your 2025 roadmap, this is required reading.

When enterprises need governance and practitioners need community, the smart money builds both

Most companies think they know how AI is being used. They don’t.

Leaders see licenses, dashboards, and usage stats…

But miss where the real value (and risk) is actually happening.

This week’s Prompt of the Week helps you step back and ask a better question. 👇

👉 How is AI truly being used across the organization—and what are we not measuring?

This framework helps you:

🔍 Separate assumption from reality
📊 Identify hidden value beyond “productivity”
🏢 Understand AI usage team by team
⚡ Spot quick wins you can act on immediately

If you’re responsible for AI strategy, governance, or transformation, this prompt is a must-have in your toolkit.

Check out the carousel for the full prompt. ⬇️

📬 Stay tuned for tomorrow’s edition—we’ll go deeper on what most AI leaders still get wrong.

AI Reality Check: 73% of ChatGPT use isn’t work-related 🚨

A new NBER deep dive analyzing 18B ChatGPT messages/week shows how people actually use AI—not surveys, not assumptions, real data.

Here’s what stood out:

🧠 AI is infrastructure for daily life - 73% of usage is personal (up from 53% last year). This isn’t slacking—it’s how people build AI fluency.

✍️ Writing dominates (but not how you think) - 24% of all usage is writing—and 2/3 is editing, not creating. AI is a thinking partner, not a ghostwriter.

❓ Asking beats Doing - “Thinking with AI” (decision support, learning, sense-making) delivers higher satisfaction than task automation.

💻 Coding is only 4.2% - Despite the hype, education and practical guidance matter more than programming.

Enterprise takeaway:

If you only measure productivity, you’re missing 70%+ of the value. The real impact is better decisions, faster learning, and stronger judgment.

AI isn’t just doing work—it’s shaping how people think.

👉 How are you measuring AI value in your organization today—output… or insight? Let us know in the comments below and read the full deep dive and put the insights to work.

Most teams use AI every day, but almost none define what their AI is actually accountable for. 🔥

This week’s Productivity Prompt walks you through creating clear AI job descriptions—so your tools operate with defined scope, boundaries, and KPIs instead of guesswork. If AI is acting like a junior team member, it deserves the same clarity and oversight.

Watch out for tomorrow’s edition of The Artificially Intelligent Enterprise — we’re diving deeper into how to structure AI roles that are precise, risk-aware, and aligned with your team’s performance. 👉 Don’t miss out—subscribe and stay ahead of how AI is reshaping real work.
