I was just informed that the Tap Inn, new management will not be honoring the dates I booked for through April 2024.
I started dJ’ing at the Tap Inn last year, in season. Charging my lower than my other shows because I live on the course, and I want to see the place succeed. When summer came around, Previous management and I made a deal where I would work 2 nights in a row for the price of one (Friday / Saturday) to help them bring people in on these 118-degree days of summer, on the condition that starting in season, I would be paid ### per show and booked at least once per month.
I held up my end of the deal and if you look at the bar receipts on the days that I performed, you will see that I was a major reason the place didn’t shut down. The bartenders were making 2 x’s as much as I was in just in tipstips on the days I was there. The bar made 30 times my fee. We booked the in-season dates, months ago as spots fill up fast. I turned down other gigs and now I am screwed for my efforts to keep the place open.
Friday I made the bar 13 times my fee and that was a slow night, everyone was at the elks, and as usual, the was zero promotion by the bar.
As a full-time resident who lives on the golf course, I want the course to succeed, so I'll play golf there & have a pizza there every once in a while, but I am extremely disappointed by how this was handled.
