🚨 CORRECTION 🚨

The Cascade Courier incorrectly reported that Cascade FFA Advisor Jennifer Ward was stepping down.

This is not true — she is not resigning and has no plans to step down.

The mention came during her report on FFA’s success at State Convention, where Cascade earned four 1st-place teams and two national qualifiers.

We apologize for the error and any confusion.

🚨 BREAKING: Cascade County cancels April 1 mediation with Town of Cascade over sheriff’s contract

Just days before the scheduled public mediation, Cascade County officials called off the April 1 meeting tied to the Town of Cascade’s ongoing law enforcement contract dispute.

County officials say the meeting was canceled because they believed the town would not have enough council members present to take official action. Town officials, however, say they were not given a reason for the cancellation.

At the center of the dispute:
▪️ a reported 29% cost increase
▪️ no local ordinance enforcement under the proposed agreement
▪️ and growing questions about what law enforcement in Cascade will look like moving forward

No new mediation date has been announced.

This is a developing issue with major implications for Cascade taxpayers and public safety.

• No enforcement of local ordinances

Now, with mediation pushed back — possibly until summer — the timeline for resolving how law enforcement will be handled in Cascade is suddenly uncertain.
