The Black and White Ball at the Highlands- Cashiers film festival last night was just utterly historic and charming. After drinks and light bites, they treated us to a viewing of the original silent film, Phantom of the Opera (1925). Members of WCU's orchestra performed the score right there on stage. It was like being transported 100 years in the past. And honestly, it made me cry. It felt that special.

We are so blessed to have the PAC in our community, offering access to the performing arts that you wouldn't normally enjoy in a small mountain town. And here's some extra special news: While they used a rented screen for the film festival this week, fundraising is actively underway to get us a permanent screen in the PAC! A donor has already committed to matching funds, so please get those donations rolling in.

Soon we'll be enjoying films year- round in that comfy, beautiful theatre... AND!!! The newest Hunger Games movie (Sunrise on the Reaping) is on tap to be shown this fall.

Please support the PAC and the film festival in all the amazing work they do. I personally can't wait until the festival next year, and I'm excited about everything in between. Emily

Don't forget tonight's Barn Dance at The Bascom, 5:30 to 7:30. Come out and enjoy live music from Jackson Grimm's Old Time Machine. No dance experience necessary! Caller Harrison Keely will walk guests through traditional square dances and reels.
