We recently lost four influential figures in the cattle industry, each of whom left a lasting impact through their dedication and leadership.
Dr. Charles "Doc" Graham was a pioneering veterinarian and a visionary leader in the cattle and horse industries. John Malcolm "Jack" Shelton III, a respected rancher and industry leader, played a crucial role in establishing the National Beef Checkoff program, which significantly contributed to promoting beef across the nation. John C. Harris dedicated his life to advancing California agriculture through his diversified operations and his passion for Thoroughbred racing. And, Johnnie Robert "Bob" Kropp, a distinguished professor at Oklahoma State University, shaped the future of agriculture for thousands of students and was a recognized authority in beef cattle production.
Their impact on communities and agriculture is truly remarkable. For more about their legacies, see the "Trail's End" highlights in our latest CALF News edition on page 34-36 https://tinyurl.com/CALFNewsAugSep
