π Happy Pride Month Yall!!! π
Pride Month is celebrated every June to honor the LGBTQ+ community, commemorate the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in New York City, and recognize the generations of people who fought for the right to live openly and authentically.
One of the beautiful symbols of the LGBTQ+ community is the rainbow flag, first created by artist Gilbert Baker in 1978. Each color represents a different aspect of life and humanity, reminding us that our differences make our communities stronger. The bisexual pride flag was later created in 1998 by activist Michael Page. The pink stripe represents attraction to the same gender, the blue stripe represents attraction to different genders, and the purple stripe represents the overlap of those experiences.
At its heart, Pride is about more than flags and celebrations. It's about acceptance, respect, and creating communities where people feel safe being themselves. Just like a thriving homestead depends on diversityβdifferent plants, animals, skills, and people working togetherβour communities are strongest when everyone is welcomed and valued.
Here on our little corner of the world, we believe everyone deserves to feel seen, respected, and at home. Whether you're celebrating Pride yourself, supporting a loved one, or simply choosing kindness, know that you are welcome here.
