The Lytle Easter Treat Drive-Thru scheduled for April 11 has been postponed.
The city's emergency management team urged the for the postponement after a COVID-19 case was reported in the Lytle area.
Police Chief Richard Priest said it would contradict city officials of encouraging people to stay home and then asking them to go to an event.
“When this horrible time, COVID-19 pandemic, is behind us, we will do this event up even better,” Priest said.

BREAKING: Medina County officials have told the Castroville News Bulletin that two more COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in the county, making a total of three cases as of Thursday afternoon.

The two cases are being investigated by the Texas Department of State Health Services and as additional information becomes available we will share.

UIL has extended its suspension of contests to May 4. The last Pirates baseball and Lady Pirates softball game were scheduled for May 1 and April 24, respectively.

This essentially ends the baseball and softball for the season.

Coastal Bend College has extended spring break.

As part of our ongoing commitment to Coastal Bend students, faculty, staff and our community’s health, we continue to monitor the current COVID–19 (coronavirus) outbreak. As such, Coastal Bend College announced today, Spring Break, at all locations, will be extended by two days. All classes will resume online Wednesday, March 18. There will be no face-to-face classes until further notice. All Welding, Automotive, Dental Hygiene, Cosmetology, Nursing and Radiologic Technology students will be contacted Monday in regards to their classes.

All CBC faculty and staff must report their regular locations as normal.

Our main priority is and will always be the health, safety, and security of our students, faculty, staff and community.

No inmate visitations will be allowed in the Atascosa County jail until further notice.
