KXCJ community radio

KXCJ community radio Community Radio in the Illinois Valley, Cave Junction OR KXCJ-LP 105.7 is a Low Power FM radio station (LPFM), coming to southern Oregon’s Illinois Valley.

Headquartered in Cave Junction, the station is a project of the Spiral Living Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational organization that has been serving the people of the Illinois Valley since 2006.

Our secondary translation signal, 101.3 FM was all static (and bits of KLDR), likely due to heat related changes to the tower gear. Our friend and communications comrade, Steve Porter of Sis-Q Communications braved the impassable "road" up to the top ot 8$ mountain on Monday, to try to fix it. What we heard was probably a type of inter-modulation...? Unfortunately, Steve wasn't able to pinpoint the problem. However, the signal cleared itself up while he was up there. We're lucky to have such a creative, old-school, knowledgeable communications expert looking after our translator! Thanks Steve!!
