Watford Records LLC is an Independent Record Label in Cayce-West Columbia, South Carolina. Specializing and Producing the most Raw and Authentic Hip-Hop Music created from Pain, Poverty, & Love as well as victories and losses. For the Artists of Watford Records, Hip-Hop isn’t a Genre, Hip-Hop is a Culture and we live this Culture day in and day out. Therefore, Watford Records as a collective runs much deeper than music between one another.
Ultimately, our mission is to make a Career out of providing opportunities and inspiration for Artists plagued with continuous, unfortunate circumstances. Additionally, providing our Children with solidified foundations to build from, rather than suffering through life the way we have.
My name is Matthew Watford. I’m a 25 year old Father of four beautiful Children, Husband to my Best Friend, & Small Business Owner. As an Independent Artist/Musician; I’ve dreamt my entire life of making a Career in the Music Industry. However, as a Father and Provider creating music simply couldn’t pay the bills. After two years of attempting to juggle Music, Full Time Employment, & Fatherhood I unknowingly, quit making music entirely.
From 2016 to 2020, I didn't so much as even write music. During those four years, I spent every waking moment it seemed at work continuously chasing the next promotion. Overall, I was miserable but successful in providing for my family until I wasn’t…
After dedicating 6 years of my life to climbing the Corporate Management ladder for it to then crumble into dust, I found myself Unemployed and severely Depressed. Between 2018 and October of 2020, my mental health plummeted to the darkest pits of rock bottom.
In November of 2020, I began building a collective of incredibly talented loved ones facing similar circumstances in life. Through sharing my blessings such as Music Industry knowledge, connections, and experiences; I found my true calling and career path. Since then I’ve invested easily $10,000 of my own finances into establishing this company, constructing a recording studio, and obtaining viable resources necessary to succeed.
Now I’m fundraising to finance our growth, expansion, & Economic ability to provide opportunities in our Community. By establishing a physical location in a commercial building we can offer services to the public in support of our mission. Services such as Recording Studio Time, Mixing & Mastering, Album Artwork/Cover Art, Merchandising, Live Music Events, Music Production (Beats/Instrumentals), Contest for Local Artists, and so much more. Most importantly, these services will be offered at affordable prices to ensure regular, every day people can invest in their dreams, passions, & careers in the Music Industry. Furthermore, obtaining financial stability for my family as well as all of the families of our contributing team members.
