Dharma Publishing

Dharma Publishing Founded by Tarthang Tulku Rinpoche, we've been promoting and preserving Tibetan culture since 1975

Dharma Mudranalaya, doing business as Dharma Publishing and Dharma Press, was founded by Tarthang Tulku to protect the Tibetan heritage. It began operations in 1963 in Varanasi, India, and continues since 1971 in California, and now based at our own home at Ratna Ling, California, about three hours north of San Francisco. Since its beginning, Dharma Publishing has been the biggest publisher of Tib

etan Buddhist texts in the world, primarily because of its phenomenally large production of Tibetan texts for the Tibetan communities in exile. In addition we have over 125 titles in the English language, plus thirty-three books for children, called Jatakas. All books and art have been printed by Dharma Press also located at Ratna Ling. We are a non-profit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to preserving the culture of Tibetan Buddhism while contributing to the Western understanding of mind, well-being and human potential. All gross income is wholly dedicated towards the preservation of the Tibetan heritage, mainly in the purchase of printing paper. Learn more how you can get involved – [email protected]

Our head office is located in Cazadero, California, at the Ratna Ling Retreat Center, about three hours north of San Francisco, and our sales office in 2210 Harold Way, Berkeley. There are satellite offices in Durham, North Carolina; Amsterdam, The Netherlands; Cologne, Germany; Sao Paolo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and Buenos Aires, Argentina.

In our newly retitled classic Skillful Means, Tarthang Tulku offers a vision of work as a genuine and fulfilling path. Twenty-four exercises encourage appreciation, concentration and whole-hearted engagement.

🌻Exercise:
Responding to Difficulties

Learning to recognize the way you respond to difficulties is the first step in increasing awareness. Bring to mind two or three times when you were upset by some circumstance you could not seem to cope with. Examine each incident in turn:

Just how did it arise?
Who else was involved?
What did you do?
How did you eventually work the problem out?
Have the same patterns repeated themselves?

These questions give you room to stand back, to gain insight into what caused the problems, and to think realistically of new alternatives to cope with similar situations. (The Gift of Work, p. 75).

K*m Nye Dancing
6 Zoom Sessions with Andis Egle
Saturday and Sunday from 7 to 8:15 am PST
November 16 - December 1, 2024
Recordings will be Available

Dharma Publishing Academy invites you to join us for six sessions in Tarthang Tulku Rinpoche's book K*m Nye Dancing.

Invoking the wisdom of the K*m Nye Dancing Gestures we may ask:
Who am I?
Where I’m coming from?
Where I’m going?

The yogi’s dance expresses sacred knowledge in motion, it hints at what it might mean to answer these questions.
This dance, arising from the heart of space, is space replying to these unspoken questions of our embodiment, the mystery of our being.

“Here and now, space is dancing us” - touching instant, not before, not after.

“Without feet, we can’t walk”, our conceptual mind is telling us.
“Yes, we can” - “I don’t understand"

Trying to understand what wisdom, meditation, and ‘go beyond’ mean, those are labels. “I understand“ is our territory. We didn't check all the concepts we adopted. My thoughts are bubbles, a sense of identity, complete. “I” being recognized by me.
Check your understanding, the feeling of understanding. The six senses have a lot of interpretations.

Express instant, in between, open up, and extend it before finishing. The gestures express the wisdom inherent in the open field of experience, fundamental openness.

The K*m Nye Dancing gestures do not confirm our labels, projections, or what we already know. Thoughts leave no traces. The 'I' is part of the experience as the wisdom of experience speaks through our movements. The instant, the zero-point of experience provides the freedom to be. Having left the corral we created for ourselves, we discover our lives are what we make them.

Come and join 6 sessions to discover the dynamic space where K*m Nye Dancing is taking place.

Time, Space, and Knowledge: A New Vision of Reality
By Tarthang Tulku

The TSK Vision is a strikingly original, penetrating approach to mind, matter, and experience. Created by Tarthang Tulku, one of the last surviving Lamas to be fully and traditionally trained in Old Tibet, TSK is not a religious or even philosophical position, but rather an open, inclusive form of inquiry perfectly at home in the science and reason-oriented cultures of the West.
