TRADITIONAL NGUNI FOOD

AmaNgoni, which traditional Nguni food reminds you most of home, culture, and the way our elders lived?

For admin, it is Umcaba / Uphuthu-a traditional maize meal dish with a dry, crumbly texture. Unlike soft pap, uphuthu is prepared with less water, giving it that grainy and filling texture loved by many Zulu and other Nguni-speaking communities.

It is often enjoyed with amasi, fresh milk, beans, stew, or chakalaka.
