Instead we have Dr. Bryan Cross, Associate Professor at Mt. Mercy University, Department of Philosophy and Theology.

This is the Feast of the Queenship of Mary, on today August 22, on the octave of August 15th, The Assumption, commemorating when God took Mary bodily to be with him in heaven. First, it is unnatural for a Mother to be separated from her child. Think of the travesty of abortion these days! But from the beginning it was not so.

Dr. Cross will discuss Philosophy with us, being we are having a focus on Philosophy at the start of September.

This is the Feast of the Assumption of Mary, August 15th, commemorating when God took Mary bodily to be with him in heaven. First, it is unnatural for a Mother to be separated from her child. Think of the travesty of abortion these days! But from the beginning it was not so.

We also discussed the feast, just yesterday August 14, of St. Maximilian Mary Kolbe. The martyr of charity at Auchiewhitz, who died from a lethal injection after failure to die quickly in a starvation bunker. Two scripture verses go with this, John 13:15, "No greater love is there than this, than to lay down one's life for a friend," and "Man does not live by bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."

We also discuss the new movie about Kolbe, "Triumph of the Heart." which played at Marcus Theature on August 13, the eve of the Feast of St. Maximilian. KMMK and Divine Mercy Gifts sponsored this movie so that attendees could view this for $5.

It is the mission of KMMK to formate as many as possible into Mary and into Mary via Maximilian Mary Kolbe.

Father explains apologetics as well as giving us catechesis and formation on the Mass. He also tells us about his recent retreat to Benedictine Conception Abbey, current home of Archbishop Emeritus Jerome Hanus. An he speaks of harvesting okra and cucumbers (what pickles are made of : ).

The front part of the show is the history of the area of Bosnia-Herzegovina and Franciscan involvement I have researched and put together starting with WWII. There also is some history on the veneration of Mary as well starting with Elijah and Mount Carmel including Elijah killing of the 450 prophets of Baal.

Dennis Miller pastor at St. Patrick in Cedar Rapids is our guest, having come back from the Priesthood for a New Evangelization at the Mariot Convention Center in San Antonio. Our host is Tony May, OFS, who with Father will review this monumental event. As well we will cover Father's conference and the upcoming Feast of the Presentation.

KMMK88.7FM Kolbe Konnection episode #99 on January 24, 2025. Our regular guest, Fr. Dennis Miller, pastor of St. Patrick in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is away to day in San Antonio for an evangelization conference. It is not open to just priests. Tony May, OFS, host has Mike Alt with him today as a guest, who will give a overview of foster care. He and his wife Sandy have had 250 foster children through their homes.

Even though the Anniversary of Roe v. Wade is on January 22 and is during the week this year, due to the inauguration, it has taken place today!

We broadcasted the March for Life from Washington DC Live on KMMK today. To have a related topic to the life issues, and in particular, adoption, we are having Mike Alt give us some details of Foster Care (back then it was DHS, now it is through Four Oaks). Mike will cover the personal stories of certain kids. He is the first to admit that his wife, Sandy, did all the work.
