UPDATE ON MOLLIE SCHMIDT
From the Wyoming Police Dept: The Wyoming Department of Public Safety is conducting a homicide investigation in the 1500 block of 44th Street Southwest. On August 30th, Detectives from Wyoming Public Safety and Kent County Sheriff's Office served a search warrant at an apartment belonging to Yenly Garcia and located a female deceased from a gunshot wound.
The female has been identified as Mollie Schmidt, who was reported missing to Kent County Sheriff’s Office last week.
Detectives are investigating this case as a homicide and are pursuing all leads. Yenly Garcia is a person of interest in this case.
Yenly Garcia is 44 years old, 5 foot 10 inches tall, 200 pounds with dark hair and distinct tattoos on his face.
Garcia was last known to be driving a black 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup with a Michigan plate of ELW6780. Garcia’s current whereabouts are unknown. Garcia currently has an active warrant out for his arrest on an unrelated charge.

PLEASE SEE UPDATE ON MOLLIE SCHMIDT IN NEW POST. Police have found her body, and are treating it as a homicide. It is now Wyoming Police Department's case.
ORIGINAL:
The Kent County Sheriff's Office is seeking information on the whereabouts of Mollie Schmidt (maiden name O'Meara) of Plainfield Township. Mollie is 33 years old, 5'2" - 100lbs, with blonde hair and blue eyes. She was last seen on August 21st, 2022 at her residence near the East Beltline & 5 Mile Rd NE. Her uncharacteristic disappearance is being investigated by the KCSO as she has left behind children. KCSO investigators are asking for the public's assistance in locating her. She may be in the company of Yenly Garcia, a 44-year-old Wyoming resident. Anyone with information on either person is asked to contact the KCSO.
