WHAT HAPPENED
β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”At approximately 11:48 AM Saturday July 25 2026, emergency crews were dispatched to reports of an explosion near Brandt Drive and Pleasant Valley Road in the Town of Cedarburg. First responders arrived to find a large amount of black smoke coming from the area.Two Cedarburg men β€” a 54-year-old and an 82-year-old β€” were transported to a hospital in Milwaukee with critical injuries.A dog at the scene was also injured and transported to an animal hospital.The outbuilding involved in the explosion was a total loss.β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is currently experiencing intermittent connectivity issues with its administrative phone line, 262-335-4411. Community members attempting to reach the Sheriff’s Office for non-emergency matters may encounter difficulty connecting through this number.

Until full service is restored, please direct all non-emergency calls to 262-335-4378.

We want to reassure the public that all 911 emergency lines remain fully functional and are not impacted by this technical issue. Emergency services continue to operate without interruption.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work diligently to restore the administrative phone line to full functionality. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
