The Disney Blog

The Disney Blog Not affiliated with the Walt Disney Company Since I'd been blogging personally since 1998, it was a natural thing for me to do. That door is always open.

The Disney Blog is written by fans for fans and covers all aspects of the Walt Disney Company, the Disney family, their history, fans, and related organizations. The Disney Blog started in 2004 when I looked around and saw that while there were excellent Disney Travel Planning websites, no one was covering the whole company in the blogosphere. The Disney Blog is written by fans for fans and covers

all aspects of the Walt Disney Company, the Disney family, their history, fans, competitors and related organizations. As the company has grown and added ABC, ESPN, Pixar, The Muppets, Marvel, and lately Star Wars and other Lucasfilm properties, we've added those to our coverage too. If any of those topics interest you, we'd love to have you as a guest blogger. The Disney Blog is in no way affiliated with the Walt Disney Company

So Wolfgang Puck is leaving Disney Springs. Again. Food was good, location and view was not as good as the old restaurant. Personally, I think they should convert the space into a comedy club or jazz club. Both are elements sorely missing from the entertainment, dining, and shopping district.

What would you like to see?

I just remembered that Ken Potrock retired from Disney and never did open that bowling alley at ESPN Wide World of Sports.

If Disney did open one there, would you go bowling on vacation? As a local, I might be tempted to join a league just to say I did.

HarryHausen's is starting to take shape and I love seeing the monster faces appearing on facades at Monster's Inc Land in Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Phase 1 will open to guests in 2027 including Tlthe streetscapes, dining locations, theater show, and retail offerings under the story framework of "H.U.M.A.N. Day" (Humans Understand Monsters Are Nice). The coaster will arrive in 2028.

It's rare these days to have an opportunity for a selfie with the moss wall inside Pandora - The World of Avatar. Usually it's stroller central.

Remember DisneyQuest, Club Disney, even ESPN Zone restaurants. All three Location Based Entertainment experiences eventually shriveled and died. There wasn't one specific reason for the LBE failures, other than poor economic conditions, but I often wonder if Disney shouldn't give the idea another shot.

Could Disney combine an IMAX theater with a store/theme park preview center and themed restaurant? Maybe a few interactive experiences too. Consumers want experiences they can share. It's also a huge profit center for Disney right now. It makes sense to expand that to regions beyond Anaheim and Orlando.

Anyone else preparing to be a little underwhelmed by D23 theme park announcements? Disney has announced a lot of stuff they still haven't finished building and some things they haven't even broken ground on that were announced to big fanfare. Maybe they'll surprise me and announce that much needed 3rd Domestic theme park and resort, but I doubt it.

What new project would you like Disney to announce for its theme parks?

Would you live at Walt Disney World for 8 months of the year if you could make it work financially? It has to be in an RV at Fort Wilderness and you have to check out for at least 24 hrs ever 26 days to avoid triggering residency restrictions. (There is a family who does this, btw.) Sounds wonderful, right?
