Something very heavy is on my heart today.
I keep thinking about the 11-year-old boy who recently took his own life.
A child.
A child who should still be dreaming, laughing, playing, and discovering who he is.
Our young people are hurting.
They are carrying the weight of bullying, trauma, anxiety, depression, abandonment, social pressures, family struggles, and generations of unresolved pain. They are trying to navigate a complicated world with developing minds and nervous systems that are not yet equipped to carry these burdens alone.
What they need is connection.
They need to be seen.
They need to be heard.
They need safe spaces, support, validation, and tools that help them understand what is happening inside of them.
At this year's We Understand You Mental Health & Trauma Summit, Oct 2-3, in Lima, we are committed to making sure every child who wants to attend has the opportunity to do so, regardless of financial circumstances.
If you feel led to help, we are looking for:
• Sponsors for youth attendees
• Monetary donations
• Gift baskets and raffle items for our fundraising raffle
Together, we can make a difference in the life of a child who may be struggling silently.
If you would like to sponsor a child, donate, or contribute a raffle item, please reach out to me directly.
Because one conversation, one connection, and one act of kindness can change a life.
Tickets will go on sale BY June 30th.
