By this time next week, both litters of puppies will be in their forever homes 🏠 While the finish line is close, so are the tender feelings of my heart. ❤️ I miss these little creatures as they leave to fulfill the measure of their creation. For those of you who have been blessed with one of these babies, remember that I love pictures and updates!🥹🐶❤️

A dog died while playing in the Virgin River over the weekend and now officials are warning the public about the dangers of exposing themselves and pets to harmful algal blooms.

So along with each puppy that comes into the world, there’s a family that goes along with that puppy. A family that has a purpose for wanting to bring a puppy into their lives and as we discuss that purpose, I start building a bond with the family. I don’t see myself as a “dog breeder” but rather a facilitator of companionships. The best part of all of it is that along the way, I meet some extraordinary people! 4 years ago, I took a puppy to my now friend, Shefali. Today my new friend, Rhiba will get her puppy, Yoshi. And a few weeks ago my new friend, Michelle picked up her puppy, Maverick! All because of Shefali and Mr. Chicken Biscuit. I feel so blessed to make new friends as the puppies head to their forever families.

The high value of a “meaty bone”…we buy beef rib bones and cut most of the meat off the bone but leave just enough to keep the puppies occupied. I only allow these bones in crates. Association is a big thing for puppies, they associate food with sound for instance, when they hear their kibble hitting their tin dish in the morning, they go crazy. They’ve been conditioned for this since we’ve been feeding them kibble for 5 weeks now. Same with bones and crates. They hear my freezer door open around 10:30 p.m. and they start getting excited. They don’t mind that they’re going into a locked crate because there are bones and a “woof” w/pumpkin in it and they get to gnaw on them. When I grab Mika and Yadi’s leashes, they get so excited because they know, sound of leashes equals going somewhere. So many things we do are intentional and Amy says, “what gets rewarded, gets repeated.” Puppies are up to 6 hours in their crate at night and that’s pretty good for as little as they are. Don’t mind the old meaty bone, it’s aging beautifully!😂

What if just for one moment puppies and babies could be together safely? This is my precious grandbaby and for whatever reason, she doesn’t mind the nibbles from the puppies but this is NEVER something we would allow unsupervised. Babies are babies and puppies are babies, neither really knows how to interact with the other so it’s up to us as adults to protect both. This sweet interaction between the two was supervised by three adults and with a puppy who is 13 weeks old. She’s out of the biting stage but was more than happy to clean up the Cheetos grandpa gave to the grandbaby.
