Beat the 83°F heat by wading right into Bald Eagle Creek at Curtin Village in Milesburg, PA!

Ended up right in the middle of about 30 active Cedar Waxwings darting from tree to tree and snatching bugs straight out of the air. Standing in the cool water to capture these fast-moving birds in mid-flight takes some serious patience, but the view was totally worth getting in the water for these pics. 📸🌿

Did you know that Pennsylvania’s striking Blue Jay is actually a member of the brilliant Corvidae (crow and raven) family? These bold, super-smart backyard birds are famous for their remarkable problem-solving skills, hawk-mimicking calls, and crucial role in planting oak forests by burying acorns! If you want to invite these colorful corvids to your yard, serve up their absolute favorite treats—whole or shelled peanuts, black oil sunflower seeds, and nut-rich suet blocks—on wide platform feeders or large hopper trays that give these stocky acrobats plenty of room to land and feast.

Who Rescued Whom?

Mounted the GoPro to Stella’s back for our Saturday morning hike to see the trail entirely through her eyes! Even with the muggy 73° heat and 88% humidity, she tackled every climb through the woods with pure, unfiltered joy.

Rescuing an American Staffordshire Terrier will completely redefine what love and loyalty mean to you. They have the biggest hearts, and honestly, Stella has done far more for me than I could ever do for her. 🐾🌲

Late afternoon, the stillness of the water and that instant tug on the line—there’s nothing quite like spending the day at Bald Eagle State Park Fishing. 🎣✨
