Fire Prevention Week – Day 4: Lithium-Ion Batteries Are Everywhere

From phones and laptops to e-bikes, power tools, and toys, lithium-ion batteries power so much of our daily life. But with great convenience comes responsibility.

Today’s Tip:
Know where lithium-ion batteries are in your home and treat them with care.
• Only use manufacturer-approved chargers and batteries.
• Keep batteries away from heat and direct sunlight.
• Stop using batteries that are damaged, bulging, or leaking.
• Recycle old or damaged batteries safely, never throw them in the trash.

By understanding where these batteries are and how to handle them safely, you can protect your family and your home.
