Our region is in a moderate to high risk of severe weather this afternoon into this evening. This means severe thunderstorms are likely, with the potential for strong, long-track tornadoes, widespread damaging winds and very large hail. Also, significant to catastrophic flooding is expected to develop from tonight into this weekend. This is a rare and dangerous weather situation, so everyone need to be prepared and go over plans on how to stay safe. Portions of the region have been upgraded to a High Risk of severe, with the rest of the region still in a Moderate.
