So many pins. So many stories.

This episode dives into the choreography of effort behind the map and database of unsolved cases across the United States created by Raul Montero. It also illustrates the shared reach of those in the true crime community working together to have a positive impact.

Featuring the stunning art of Hannah Hill (), a tribute to the beauty that can happen when people work together. Check out the episode. Check out the map.

It started with the haunting mystery of the Long Island Serial Killer— Shannon Gilbert missing, and Maureen Brainard-Barnes, Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman and Amber Lynn Costello found on a beach wrapped in burlap. What began as curiosity became compassion.

Created by Raul Montero — aka CatchLisk — who joins me for a discussion, this nationwide map now covers thousands of missing and unidentified people across the U.S. It fills a gap government left behind and has become a tool for law enforcement, loved ones and advocates.

True crime isn’t just about the mystery—it can be a gateway to helping. 🔗 Watch here: https://bit.ly/3XMJ0Az

“We need to start helping each other and having that friendship and having that partnership…”

Jerome Lucero reminds us that jurisdictional gaps on tribal lands aren’t just legal—they harm people and empower criminals.

When New Mexico’s Most Wanted was spotted on tribal land, no agency claimed jurisdiction. The silence was deafening. Along with Jerome Lucero's interview, Hannah Hill’s artwork captures what words cannot: the heartbreak of boundaries that fail justice.

🛑 “The system is failing our people.” From the Major Crimes Act of 1885 to the McGirt v. Oklahoma decision, courts and agencies like the FBI, Bureau of Indian Affairs, and state, local, and tribal police have wrestled over jurisdiction. That struggle has too often left reservations as permissive areas for crime—by insiders and outsiders alike.

Jerome Lucero, the former chief of the Pubelo of Zia tribal police department, explains why sovereignty and prosecution powers are essential for Indigenous nations to protect their people.

🎨 Artwork by Hannah Hill ( on Instagram) depicts a real incident where one of New Mexico’s most wanted fugitives walked free because no agency claimed jurisdiction. Tribal residents had to defend themselves until authorities acted.
