Congratulations to Vox Grata on a great performance of Rachel Fogarty's Flying. One of the best performances of this work so far out of many fine community and collegiate treble choirs in the US and internationally to have performed this work since its release 10 years ago! Vox Grata had purchased this early in January 2020, and then Covid hit us in the next two months and they finally were able to perform it in 2022. Beautiful work from Ms. MacCallum, the singers, and the chamber trio accompanying musicans! Bravo! Give them a listen here:

I vividly recall that after the 2017 ACDA national conference treble choir reading session in Minneapolis, about 25-30 directors and panelists stayed after the reading and discussed women's choir music for about 30 minutes. One of the main themes was that directors liked much of the music that was coming out but that so much of it was too difficult for most of their ensembles, and what was not too difficult was often just cutesy or cheesy.
