I vividly recall that after the 2017 ACDA national conference treble choir reading session in Minneapolis, about 25-30 directors and panelists stayed after the reading and discussed women's choir music for about 30 minutes. One of the main themes was that directors liked much of the music that was coming out but that so much of it was too difficult for most of their ensembles, and what was not too difficult was often just cutesy or cheesy. You wanted new and interesting choral music for treble choirs that is neither crazy difficult nor dumbed down or immature in musical content and lyrics. We are happy to share a piece that answers your call! I am happy to present our newest publication, available now directly from Kandinsky Music or through your favorite resellers, KMC-1902, Yksi ruusu on kasvanut laaksossa, a Finnish folksong for SSA choir with an additional sop solo/small group, arranged by Dr. Riikka Pietiläinen-Caffrey.
