St. Bernard Parish Government
Housing and Redevelopment Department
Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) Program

On Monday, December 1, 2025 and Tuesday, December 2, 2025, the St. Bernard Parish Government Housing and Redevelopment Department will begin accepting applications for CSBG Christmas Food Baskets for the elderly (60+) and disabled. Applicant must meet CSBG income guidelines (see below).

APPLICATIONS WILL ONLY BE ACCEPTED ON THESE DAYS BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 9:00AM TO 1:00PM in the Council Chambers Room at St. Bernard Parish Government Complex, 8201 W. Judge Perez Drive, Chalmette, LA 70043

All applicants must complete an application and provide the following required documentation:

• Valid Driver’s License or State ID for all household members over the age of 18
• Social Security cards for all members of the household
• Verifiable Proof of Income for all household members over the age of 18
• Current Award Letter (print out) for food stamps (if applicable)
• Award Letter for Social Security (SSA, SSI, SSDI, Pension etc.)

2- $942,300
3- $53,300
4- $64,300
5- $75,300
6- $86,300
7- $97,300
8- $108,300

UPDATE***Both northbound and southbound lanes of Paris Road have been reopened.

🚨🚔🚨
SBSO CLOSES PARIS ROAD DUE TO FIRE

The St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office is advising motorists that both northbound and southbound lanes of Paris Road (LA 47) in Chalmette are currently shut down due to a fire at WB Scrap Metal in the 5000 block.

Emergency crews are on the scene working to contain the fire.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area and use alternative routes until further notice.

We will provide updates as more information becomes available.
