Lower Brule and White Lake are now among the closing of schools. It's not nice out there. Enjoy some hot chocolate and bake some chocolate chip cookies for your stay at home day.

We now have two schools that have closed for the day – Crow Creek Tribal Schools of Stephan and Lyman. In a notice, Lyman Schools relayed, "Lyman School District is CLOSED today, December 11.
Road conditions have not improved for our district buses, and law enforcement is currently responding to multiple accidents. After careful consideration, we believe it is in everyone’s best interest to cancel school for the day."
It's always a tough decision but when you are responsible for so many people, not just students but staff and others, it, in my opinion, is a wise decision. Drive safe if you have to go out or at least wait until daylight so you can see what you are driving on.

Kimball School has added a late start of 10 a.m. It's a sheet of ice out there. Check out the video cameras near the Coffee Cup in Vivian. You'd be better off on ice skates than a vehicle. What a day so far!

Lower Brule IHS will open at 9 a.m. White Lake Schools will start at 10 a.m. There will be no breakfast, no preschool or junior kindergarten.
