This machine represents the pinnacle of 80’s craftsmanship and technology. Swiss made, 500lbs, and almost $70k new…still functions with precision after nearly 40 years. Truly a joy to work on. Thank you to Earth Analog for keeping this one in perfect working condition…been working exclusively on this beauty with the last two weeks…30ips on 911 formulation, for you nerds.

Picked up 11 of these iLoud MTM monitors a few months ago…they’ve been the perfect solution for an accurate 7.1.4 setup in my relatively small mix room. I’ve received some kind words about my first song and film mixed on this setup, and I’m excited for many more to come!

I’ve been having a blast mixing Final Summer with in my newly refreshed immersive room. We got up to 581 tracks, and rendered full mixes in (7.1.4), 5.1, 2.0, and binaural. It’s ready for it’s first festival showing this weekend!

Proud to have earned my certification as a Dolby Atmos Professional. This technology is already widely implemented with IMAX and Apple Spatial Audio, but we’re just at the beginning of finding new and better ways to produce for this medium. Excited to be a part of it!

Not usually one for using numbers or accolades to value any artistic contribution, but I checked out .ai and was given a little shot in the arm by that 7-digit number. For something that started in my attic by helping a couple friends make demos, it’s pretty humbling to see that my work is finding a reception. Of course, most of these numbers aren’t really mine, they represent the collection of years of being invited to collaborate with others. Anyways, cheers… here’s to everyone making music they’re proud of, and finding an audience that shares that appreciation. 🙏

I keep adding functionality and refinement to the mix room… very cool to be able to bounce between mixing hybrid analog to tape or full in the box at 7.1.4 , tracking a full band live or mastering, solo production or zoom teaching. Just feels good when your studio space is an extension of your skills, not getting in the way and allowing you to trust instincts. Cheers!

A month late, but among the year-end madness, I forgot to acknowledge the kind mentions by Smile Politely of two projects that passed through the doors here…the Sweetmelk EP and the Mermaid Heaven video for Nightbloom. Very cool to see how many local bands and artists kept pushing along through such a strange year, and also bittersweet to read their tribute to great friend and legendary musician, Bryan. 💜
