We were thrilled to have this film by Yelena Popovic shot right here at Flyover Film Studios, along with locations in Champaign, Urbana, Paxton, Rantoul, and at Willard Airport in Savoy.

Filmmaking 4x4 will teach you about the four pillars of filmmaking—camera, lighting, art, and production. This one-day, intensive workshop will offer a speed dating-style circuit, allowing you to connect your existing skills with the current needs of the growing film industry in Central Illinois.

We’re seeking background actors for the feature film MOSES THE BLACK. From church goers to party girls, prisoners to choir singers, we’re looking for Champaign County LOCALS to fill this film.

Synopsis: Set in real neighborhoods on Chicago’s West Side and shaped by community voices, Moses the Black is a gritty, raw redemption story —inspired by a 4th-century outlaw-turned-saint.

Sarah Cayce, a one-of-a-kind Casting Director, filmmaker and one of Chicago's best on-camera teachers will be hosting two incredible workshops on August 23 and 24 at Flyover Film Studios in Rantoul! 📋✅

🎬 The first workshop, Acting for Camera, will be a day packed with acting education where you'll learn how to enter and exit the frame, using camera to your advantage, how to break down a film script, acting techniques specific to camera, and more.

🎬 The second workshop, Audition for Film and Television, you will focus on audition material that will be prepped beforehand. You'll run your scene several times on camera and receive feedback from Sarah in between takes. After lunch, you'll come back and work through a cold-reading exercise and wrap with a Q&A.

Film in Champaign County

Champaign County has a rich history in film, most notably with the renowned Ebertfest, Roger Ebert's Film Festival held at the Historic Virginia Theatre. Each April, dozens of films are screened and panel discussions held showcasing directors, producers and actors. The CU Film Society has introduced the Pens to Lens series, introducing K-12 students to filmmaking as their screenplay is brought to life by local filmmakers.

Most recently, the film Consumed was shot and produced entirely in Champaign County, featuring a wide variety of locales to tell a story of a mother on a quest to uncover the cause of her son's mysterious illness.
