More than 590 donors came together to honor the life and legacy of Suffolk County Corrections Officer Steven “SK” Krayewski, raising over $64,000 for his family through the power of community.

This fundraiser is a reminder that when tragedy strikes, people don’t just offer thoughts and prayers—they take action. Friends, family, coworkers, members of the law enforcement community, and complete strangers united behind one common goal: supporting a family during one of the most difficult moments imaginable.

The response to this campaign reflects the impact SK had on those around him and demonstrates the incredible generosity that exists when a community comes together for one of its own.

At FundtheFirst.com, stories like this are why we built the platform. Every donation represents someone choosing to stand beside a family in need, and every successful fundraiser is proof that compassion, trust, and community still matter. We are honored to provide a place where people can rally around those facing life’s toughest challenges and make a real difference when it matters most.

Heartbreaking. This agency has always held a special place in our heart.

The Carroll County Sheriff's Office has identified the Virginia deputy killed in Friday night's shooting as Deputy Logan Utt, a military veteran and devoted family man who had dreamed of a career in law enforcement.

A manhunt remains underway for the suspect, Michael Timothy Pucket. Local, state and federal law enforcement agencies — including the FBI, U.S. Marshals Service, ATF and multiple local agencies — are working to locate and capture Puckett. The U.S. Marshals Service is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
