🚌 We stayed at a Campground connected to a Flea Market! It was so cool! 🤯

We are at Barnyard RV Park outside Columbia, South Carolina

We are here to visit Congaree National Park, which is about 30 minutes away!

🏕️🚌 The Campground:

I’ve never heard of a campground flea market combo before, so I knew it would be a fun experience!

Overall the rates were fair, about $55 per night for full hook up camping, and the campground was nice. My only note is that it’s probably more long term residents than recreational weekend campers here. But the reviews are outstanding online for this park.

🌲🪵 The National Park:

We visited Congaree National Park, yes it’s an actual national park, and it’s beautiful!

It has astonishing biodiversity and it one of the largest old growth forests on the eastern United States!

🥾 We enjoyed the Boardwalk Loop from the visitors center, which is about 2.7 miles around, but due to construction we walked halfway around and back

The park is full of massive pine trees, some over 150 feet tall, and lots of marshy swamp!

It’s definitely a single day stop, but a few days would only strengthen your experience here!

☕️ We enjoyed local coffee from Piecewise Coffee Co. in Cayce, it was good coffee but very busy.

Such a fun trip overall! Highly recommend when passing through SC!

🔎⛺️ We either found the BEST campground in Florida or a true nightmare (based on 1-star reviews)

Let’s explore Hanna Park Campground In Jacksonville, Florida

This is a city-run campground that is comprised of 300 campsites, between Rv sites, tent sites and cabins.

💵 I was roped in by the $30 per night full-hook up Rv sites, but is the price too good to be true..

For starters Hanna Park campground is located near Jacksonville Beach inside Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park.

That park is open to the public with a entrance fee of $5 per car. It’s free for campers.

This larger park has beach access, a splash pad, hiking trails, biking trails, playgrounds, food trucks, fishing lakes and more

Already it feels like a great deal, value wise, for all these included amenities and access points

⛺️ The campground is surprisingly densely forested with a nearly enclosed canopy of trees blocking out the sites and sounds of floridas largest city.

I loved the tranquility and peace the dense forest provided. Truly felt like a wild/rugged state park, not a city park.

The included ammenities were nice, the activities felt nearly endless and there was still a whole nearby city to explore or run to for shopping, food, groceries.

🫩 I think the negative reviews were your run-of-the-mill complainers that will find problems no matter where they visit. I spent 5 days here and basically debunked every bad review in the big picture.

Overall I highly recommend a trip out to Hanna Park Campground. So beautiful and so much fun!!

🌊☀️⛺️ We drove onto a ferry that took us a picturesque island near Jacksonville🌴

⛴️🚗 Stop 1: Mayport Ferry Dock

We started in Mayport and drove onto the St. Johns River Ferry which takes you across the river to Amelia Island

The ferry was $6 and change per way and took about 10 minutes start to finish, smooth sailing! You can get out and take pictures too

From the Amelia island ferry port we drove north up the 13 mile picturesque costal island, passing parks, nature areas, restaurants, beaches and wildlife

🦴🪾Stop 2: Boneyard Beach, .3 walk to a unique coastal shoreline with 30ft bluffs and skeleton-like driftwood

☀️🌊 Stop 3: Downtown Fernandina Beach to have lunch at Timoti’s Seafood Shak (great prices, delicious food)

🤗 We walked around the downtown shops and the loaded up to drive back home

You can fill the day with activities that you like, there’s soooo much to do! Our time was limited with a 4 month old in the car, so we had a quick day trip.

Totally recommend!!

🐒⛺️📍You can camp with WILD Monkeys at this Florida State Park (Yes, they’re actually wild!)

💧 This is Silver Springs State Park, it’s one of the most unique state parks in Florida.

We stayed at the Silver Springs State Park campground at one of their RV sites, it was $24 per night before fees + $7 utility fee.

The state park also offers traditional tent campsites as well as cabins

There are many private campgrounds and hotels in the surrounding area as well

🐒 We saw the monkeys along the main boardwalk around 9:30am before it got too hot, after that the monkeys will move towards the waterway

🛶You can Kayak or paddleboard here, bring your own or rent them here at the park

🛥️ We loved the glass bottom boat tour, for $17 we saw wildlife, learned about the history and lore and saw super cool sights

Overall, such a fun trip! Totally worth visiting.

✨🐭⛺️✨ Come tour The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilerness Resort! SO NICE!!!

This Disney resort offers Cabin rentals, campsites for tents or small trailers and multiple RV site options

It’s super nice, I had a blast here and highly recommend visiting.

This is the Safari Campground that’s part of Wild Adventures (Theme Park/Zoo) in Valdosta, GA.

Super fun experience, overall clean campground with lots of ammenities.
