There’s just something about a getaway to St. Augustine, Florida 🌴✨

Cobblestone streets, swaying palms, centuries-old buildings, little hidden courtyards, waterfront views and more history than you could possibly take in during one visit. St. Augustine is one of those places where simply wandering around is half the experience.

As the oldest continuously inhabited European-established city in the U.S., there’s history around practically every corner—but mix that with the laid-back Florida atmosphere and you get the perfect little escape. ☀️

A few things to add to your St. Augustine getaway:

🌴 Wander the historic streets and admire the Spanish architecture
🏰 Explore Castillo de San Marcos
🛍️ Stroll St. George Street for shops, restaurants & local finds
🌊 Walk along the waterfront and Matanzas Bay
☕ Find a cozy café and slow down for a bit
🍹 Grab dinner and drinks somewhere tucked along the historic streets
🌅 Catch a Florida sunset
👻 And if you love a little spooky history, St. Augustine has plenty of ghost stories to go around

It’s the kind of destination that works just as well for a romantic weekend, girls’ trip or spontaneous road trip when you’re craving somewhere that feels a little different.

A charming little mountain town tucked away in Western North Carolina 🏔️🤎

We spent some time exploring Canton, NC, and it’s one of those small towns that makes you want to slow down, wander around, and simply enjoy where you are.

📍 Canton, North Carolina

✨ What we loved about our visit:
• Charming, walkable downtown streets
• Beautiful mountain scenery in every direction
• Local shops and small businesses
• Historic buildings and small-town architecture
• Murals and little details worth stopping for
• Plenty of spots to grab a coffee or bite to eat
• That laid-back Western NC atmosphere we love
• A great little stop to pair with an Asheville or Blue Ridge Mountains trip

It isn’t about a packed itinerary here — it’s about wandering Main Street, supporting local businesses, taking in the mountain backdrop, and enjoying the slower pace for a while.

If you love finding small towns, mountain views, local businesses, and lesser-known stops, put Canton on your Western North Carolina road-trip list. ⛰️✨

When the mountains call, sometimes you just have to answer. 🌲✨

Asheville, NC

Tucked into the mountains just outside Asheville, this dreamy dome stay gave us exactly what we were looking for — fresh mountain air, peaceful surroundings, cozy evenings and the chance to slow down for a little while.

✨ What we loved about our dome stay:
• Cozy private dome surrounded by nature
• Beautiful mountain views
• Comfortable bed for a cozy night in
• Private bathroom
• Climate-controlled interior
• Outdoor space to sit back and enjoy the surroundings
• Fire pit for evenings under the stars 🔥

There’s just something about waking up surrounded by trees, spending the day exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains and coming back to your own little dome in the woods.

Our kids are grown, and somehow we’ve entered the chapter where August means planning the next trip instead of planning for the first day of school. 🤎

It’s a little bittersweet watching those first-day photos fill our feed because it feels like yesterday that was us. But there’s something pretty special about this season too — rediscovering what life looks like when the kids don’t need us quite as much and having a little more freedom to wander.

So while everyone else is headed back to school…

we’re wondering where we should go next. ✈️🌎

This easy 0.7-mile trail winds through a quiet forest filled with towering trees, native plants, and the calming sounds of nature. Along the way, you’ll find scenic overlooks, beautiful stone pathways, and plenty of spots to slow down and take in the mountain views.

It’s the perfect reminder that some of the best moments of a getaway aren’t always found inside the hotel—they’re just beyond it.
