Poor Chito. The Chief of Police just can’t seem to get his Deputy Chief in charge of patrol to do his job and who just can’t seem to get his Captain to do her job and who just can’t seem to get her Lieutenant to do her job. The rot starts at the top as festers down.

No wonder >50% of CPD don’t trust their supervisor.

No wonder CPD is and has been more than 10% short of fully staffed for years!

The problem is not hiring… it is retaining.

But then again Chief Chito doesn’t live in the city of Charleston. He has the amount Pleasant Police Department to protect him.

This is the Crosstown. Panhandling in the middle of a four lane road is dangerous not to mention illegal. The Mayor is also at fault for not helping these persons.

Ashley Avenue at 3:45pm. Traffic backed up from the crosstown through Spring and Cannon and all the way beyond Bee.

Yeah, great idea for the City to even think about turning Ashley and Rutledge Avenues from one-way to two-way traffic.

This doesn’t even take into account delivery drivers who park in the active traffic lanes. (Next posts; stay tuned.)

Complete idiots. Just like the LibTards who comment here!

Cogswell’s “fix”. Cannon Street: over one month later and this is William and his $250,000 Chief of Staff Dieck’s answer. Stick a cone on it. Yeah, that fixes it! All vehicles and buses have to steer into the opposite lane.

This is Cogswell’s Charleston. What a Yahoo he is.

C’mon down to Cogswell’s Downtown Sidewalk Bazaar sale. You can find anything from mattresses,
shelving, chairs, lighting fixtures, hubcaps, shoes & socks, space heaters, bed frames, paint, electric heaters to ironing boards, microwaves, suitcases, vacuum cleaners, mirrors to even toilets and more!

A few more days until Livability comes by for bulk pickup so hurry before someone else takes your found treasure.

For you LibTards, no these are not photos from school move out. These are recent photos from items thrown out on the street and have stayed there for many days.

Can’t even walk into a house of worship without a bicycle rider almost mowing you down. 70, 80, and 90 year olds entering.

CPD Team 1 is a joke. Only 3-5 officers per shift to patrol all of the peninsula north of Calhoun Street. The department is perpetually 10% short of an artificially low number of being fully staffed. Chief Chito told me personally this number should be north of 800 and not the “official” 454; which hasn’t changed for over a decade even with the population and geography growth of the city.

Keep your ostrich heads in the sand. Keep praying nothing happens!

This is one-term Cogswell’s City government. Cannon Street. Who feels safe driving on this?

$250,000 Chief of Staff Dieck to run the day-to-day operations and this is what we get. Pathetic waste of money.

In one-term mayor Cogswell’s Charleston, you can throw out anything you want in your garbage anywhere you want, anytime you want.

Furniture, food, electronics? All are ok. On the sidewalk, in the street, on someone else’s property? Why not? Miss trash-day pickup by 5 minutes? Who cares, dump it anyway and let it sit out there all week long.

Live in Summerville or Goose Creek? Come dump it downtown on Radcliffe Street. Have seen this. Crazy.

The one-term mayor doesn’t care. City council is clueless. Livabilty can’t or won’t do their job.

I didn’t receive an invitation to Chito’s Super Bowl party either. With a 30% raise in compensation, one would think the Chief of Police would either invite some of those less fortunate or at least do his job.

Cretella Fife, thought you were going to do something about this as you too received a 30% raise while the front-line troops got… nothing.

CPD failure at the top.

What does the City think will happen when traffic from Bee Street if Rutledge is turned into two-way traffic and vehicles will be making left turns too? Cogswell and his band of idiots don’t think anything through. Add left turns from Morris and Radcliffe Streets and it will be gridlock. 100% Stupidity.

01/25/2026

Ashley Avenue. Yeah, changing it to two-way traffic… If Chito and CPD can’t patrol this when it is one-way traffic, what’s going to happen when this occurs if they change it to two-way traffic? Especially during rush hour?!?

Idiots. No common sense at all.

Instead, listen Cogswell and Chito: If you want to slow traffic: 1) Schedule the traffic lights out of sequence during non-rush hour times and 2) more officers patrolling these avenues and writing tickets.

GENIUS!
