The EIU Panther Express Shuttle now offers a point-to-point service on its secondary bus, according to a Nov. 3 social media post by university police.

This new option is based on demand and helps keep students safe by reducing the need to walk long distances, said University Police Senior Business Manager Stacy Smith.

The point-to-point feature aims to improve efficiency, provide better coverage based on student feedback, enhance flexibility and focus on safety and accessibility for students, she said.

The new service allows students to request a ride to a list of approved locations. On weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., students may request the point-to-point service by calling 217-581-7570.
