Tired Mama

Tired Mama I'm a 36 year old overweight mother of 2 starting my weight loss journey. Starting Weight: 282.6 lbs

Officially down 1.2 pounds bringing my weight loss total to 6.2 pounds in 3 weeks! To celebrate the loss, and in honor of the Super Bowl, I made a zero sugar mocktail with my dinner. I poured some zero sugar Sprite over ice and added about a third of a packet of tropical punch drink mix into it. It is so good!

If you’re a parent and you’re having trouble eating your veggies, just ask your kid to feed you and then pretend you don’t like it. Their little laugh alone while feeding you will make eating the veggies worth it. 😂

These victories are just as, if not more, important than scale victories. These victories can be such a multitude of things like changes in your clothing sizes, opting to take the stairs or parking further away from your destination to walk, and making healthier food decisions just to name a few. We absolutely should be celebrating these victories! It’s these victories that will keep us on our weight loss journey.

Here’s everything I ate today as someone eating in a calorie deficit. My daily calorie goal is 1,878 calories and I ended the day having consumed 1,482 which is honestly much lower than I would have preferred. For some reason I really wasn’t too hungry today and I just couldn’t force myself to eat more. I will try to plan out my calories a bit more so I’m eating closer to my calorie goal. I did exceed my fiber and protein goals so I’ll take those wins.

Took advantage of the break in the weather and got out on my lunch break to walk over to the property next to where I work and was NOT disappointed. I’m going to have to make this my normal walking route moving forward. I can’t get over how gorgeous and peaceful it was.

My daughter asked for pizza for dinner and instead of making myself something else for dinner I decided I’d enjoy some pizza as well. I found out Dominos has a calorie calculator and when you enter in the information for the pizza you want, it will provide you with the nutritional facts. I usually go for a meat lovers pizza but opted for a New York style ham and chicken this evening with light sauce. Not only was it delicious, it was also only 240 calories per slice. I paired mine with some carrots and yogurt ranch and didn’t feel like I was missing out. Not feeling deprived is going to make this journey a lot more attainable.

It’s weigh in day and I’m officially down a total of 5 pounds in 2 weeks! I expected to have lost no more than a pound this week so imagine my surprise when I actually lost 2.6! I ate close to my calories each day as well as exceeded my fiber and protein goals. I didn’t exercise as much last week as I did the week before but I still lost more weight. I said it last week but I know this isn’t a normal amount of weight to lose in a week so while I celebrate it now, I will remind myself that next weeks weigh in likely won’t yield the same results.

There’s something so comforting about Cottage Pie on a cold snowy day. And with macros like this, it’s sure to be a staple for the cold winter season. Calories 477, Fiber 4 grams, Protein 40 grams.
