I think that in our culture of the constant go, go, go, this can be an odd concept.
The idea of living, staying mindful, enjoying the small things in life. Like taking your dog on a walk or perusing the aisles of Target for a bit, or even just cooking a delicious meal for yourself at home. I think we all forget that it’s these tiny moments that make up most of our lives.
Having a never ending to-do list is energy draining and can be downright frustrating. You probably feel like you’ve never do enough at the end of the day because your to-do list is miles long? Yeah cause same here.
I’ve been really trying to focus on the smaller enjoyable moments in life and as I like to call it “under-scheduling myself.”
This means instead of booking appointment after appointment, I might give myself an hour or two in between to relax, reset and get my mind in a better headspace. Or giving myself an extra day off every week to feel like I have my s**t together. Or even just flat out saying no to a job that I know is going to push me over the edge of overwhelm.
I think we all deserve a little under-scheduling in our lives and I hope that you consider the fact that your life is truly not an endless to-do list.
